Hosting guests from around the world is a great experience. The City of East Lansing has restricted the use of my home for whole house rental, which is the reason for the four groups I so inconvenienced by having to cancel their reservations. My sincere apologies to them.

I'm offering the Master Guest Room only. Perhaps they will broaden the codes at a later date. Meanwhile...all is the same:

Grandmother, gardener, peace & social justice activist, retired restaurateur and working to keep the arts alive, serve on the board of the Williamston Theatre.

My most important life experience: becoming a grandmother! Totally beyond my wildest dreams. And to top it off they live right here in town.

Other fun includes mostly gardening, however as the years go by it comes with a larger degree of work! My hosta collection has grown to 60 some varieties and I'm trying desperately to grow a few vegetables in the shade, which of course is rarely this year I've switched to creating a Monarch Waystation and herb plantings for bees and butterflies.

And yes, peace & justice is an accurate statement. I'm a liberal, I live in a liberal community and I participate in various peace seeking activities. Do not let this sentiment dissuade you however, as I see little value in creating an uncomfortable situation when my intent is to make your stay inviting! No politics or religion will be a topic to send you packing!

My restaurateur experience is with BurgerKing, which is not exactly like running a real restaurant; however, customer service is a major focus even with a franchise. My experience with fast food led me into the coffee business. I opened the Dancing Goat CoffeeHouse in downtown Lansing...many years ago, which remained open for five years. I believe the food industry has given me a broad background for this current venture. My intention is to provide a professional environment, clean & private, with an attention to detail yet the relaxed quality of visiting a friend.

I grew up on a farm in western Nebraska, near North Platte, have attended several colleges including MSU and have lived in this home in East Lansing since 1985. It never occurred to me I would stay in one place for such a long time, but I love the neighborhood and the house. Two husbands have come and gone and I still live here. I'm not anxious to leave, hence the idea of AirBnB, as it seems important to share the space with more people. Hope you will enjoy your stay.
