The bright and colorful photos make the place look better than it actually is. What the photos don't convey is the overal age of the building and studio. There is little to no lighting, no fans/ac and very limited street parking (ended up with a parking ticket... watch out for curb markings!) and a noisy neighboorhood (you can hear the bass from a nearby club).
More dissapointing was the interaction with host, we had to contact them via text (no response from AirBnB messaging) in order to get the key, unit number and where to leave the key. Also, our stay overlapped with a previous tentant so there were dirty towels and sheets left over. Overall the place was tidy, but no one had gone out of their way to clean it (shower, faucets and floor.. etc). The hosts seem like nice guys, and I hope they can improve things, but we were to have only stayed for a night.
Listed studio was exactly as described-yay! Loved the artwork and it was convenient to everywhere we wanted to be. Good rental:)
I arrived early so Drake had his partner meet me at the apartment to go over the details and provide me with the keys-as opposed to making me wait which was so helpful. The apartment was exactly as it appears in the photos, even better actually! I was given restaurant advice as well as general tips on the neighborhood, and as nobody was checking in the next day I was able to leave at my leisure. Overall I recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in LA. The apartment was gorgeous, artfully decorated and the rooftop was perfect for enjoying a late night cocktail and also provides you with a perfect view of the Hollywood sign!
Drake and his partner were very accommodating hosts. They were friendly, welcoming and helpful at check in as well as very accommodating during the stay with any questions we had.
Parking seemed to be a challenge at first, but was not a problem after all with a bit of patience. The area felt safe, and the studio has its charm and special touch. The studio looks better in real life.
Cool roof too.
Our host was very friendly and helpful. It didn't take long and we found ourselves attached to the place with the many nice art hanging around. As advertised a small kitchen was available, which was rather useful for our midnight snacking. Everything else was clean too. We like the gated community and the neighbourhood with so many places to go out for restaurants and drinking. This also meant that parking free spaces were quickly gone during dining hours, but after that it is fine. We got lucky a couple times and managed to park very close by.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable, and within walking distance of a number of restaurants and bars. We stayed there with another couple (friends of ours) so having the second bathroom was especially nice. The living room was a great place to lounge, have a few drinks and play Cards Against Humanity.
Drake was a lovely host - very communicative and helpful both before and during our stay. He even invited us out for drinks one night, we had a great time!
I'd happily recommend this spot to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay in LA!
Sunny & spacious flat in a good and central neighborhood.
The works of art and the colors everywhere give a real originality to the place.
We didn't have a chance to meet Drake as our flight was delayed but he was helpful with the keys & easy to communicate with.
If you plan to cook, be aware that there are very little cutlery / pans / ustensils :)
Drake was quick to communicate, happy to accommodate our late arrival, and very friendly. The location is good for having an array of places to walk to and good as a starting point to drive to various parts of LA. We enjoyed our stay, but could have used some more blankets and a better stocked kitchen. There was also no TV or onsite parking as advertised.
Drake was a great host! Had a blast. Everything was perfect for us
Drake and his friend were really cool guests to have, nice to talk to and had a cute dog with them. Great campers and would recommend to any Airbnb host.
Drake and his friend were the greatest! I mean you can't ask for more. Super nice and quiet They're welcome here ANY time!!
