Kind and happy hostess
Trudy and her family were lovely and so helpful during my stay - I was made to feel really welcome. The sleepout was really comfortable and I would highly recommend it to anyone for either a short or a long stay.
Oh My God, this place is just gorgeous! Trudy was really sweet and helpful, and always available!
The studio had an unbelievable panorama and really close to station and shops!
I will recommend to all my friends! I will defo book it again next time in New Zealand!
Thanks again Trudy!!!
I have left a review already of our initial stay.
great little private room right on the river. peaceful and relaxing.
hosts where v freindly kind. stay here its amazing
My wife and I started and ended our too brief first visit to this very beautiful country of New Zealand in Auckland. We were very fortunate to stay a few days after our arrival as well as before our departure at Trudy's sleepout. The sleepout is the ideal place for oneperson, a couple, or a couple with one child who wish to stay in the Auckland area without spending a small fortune for accomodations. The sleepout is very clean, the bed very comfortable, the shower powerful and reliable, with a small kitchenette, a microwave oven, refrigerator, toaster and coffeemaker
(but no cook top), handy to make breakfast and sandwiches. We did not use public transportation as we rented a car at the airport, so we
cannot comment on the use of bus or train to reach downtown
Auckland. Our visit was too short, only 2 weeks, and we decided to
visit the South Island another time. We visited New Plymouth,
Wellington, Napier, Tauranga and Waihi. Each of these was a
wonderful experience, and we recommend each of them to you.
Do plan on spending a very substantial sum of your savings, (website hidden) is a very expensive country to live in as well as to (website hidden) $3.50 to 4.50 for a cup of coffee in any cafe even at Mc Donald's (and no "senior coffee" at reduced price either). The least expensive bottle of NZ wine costs $12 and tastes just like Trader Joe's "2 buck chuck"($2.50 US).
Trudy's sleepout was the only good value for your money that you will find!
Fantastic little self-contained apartment. Shops and bus and train connections into the city within walking distance but best of all was the wonderful hosting by Trudy. She didn't bat an eyelid when our newly purchased campervan broke down in the drive and was super-helpful and generous for our whole stay. Would definitely recommend as a great peaceful getaway place to stay just outside of Auckland.
When reading the reviews for Trudy's place you may think people are exaggerating. They are not in the slightest. This is a magical location with everything you will need for your stay.
Trudy was very helpful and extremely welcoming. The sleepout was comfortable and that little bit of extra privacy was perfect. I cannot comment on the local transport etc., as I had transport of my own organised. My only advice would be that if you are coming from the airport to organise a cab in advance or call a company like Cheap Cabs. My cab from the airport to the sleepout was very expensive, but I organised a cab for my trip to the airport for a fixed rate of $42.
I highly recommending staying here and giving yourself a little slice of paradise :)
I had a great stay and the place suited perfectly for what I needed. It was private and well equipped, and Trudy was a great host.
Wow what can I say, treated like one of the family, lovely well mannered children, great pets and a fantastic sleep out, stayed there 17 nights over Christmas and new year and enjoyed friendship and and privacy in equal measure. Getting up yo that view every morning was a joy and loved sitting outside for breakfast every morning. I managed without a car for 14 days the train and bus station is a 20 minute walk away and had a good service into the centre of Auckland. Thanks Trudie loved staying in your littlle bit of paradise.
