The hosts are very nice in allowing us to swim in their heated pool and let me take a shower in the main house after I waited for quite a long time for the hot water in vain (the hot water system is an old type which still requires pumps). The system may not be good enough to accommodate a family of 5 people. The host gave me back 25 British pounds as a refund for the difference between the 3 bedroom coco house we paid $229 for and the so much worse barn rooms that we actually stayed in, which we do not believe represent the real value between the two accommodations given the striking differences between the quality of the two. During our long trip around uk we have stayed in at least 5 houses/apartments through airbnb, and this stay is the only one that we did not enjoy. It is simply below standard. Even our kids, who had never paid attention to where they stayed while traveling extensively with us around the world, complained about the condition of this stay and stated that "the rooms are dirty and the beds are uncomfortable". While I pay sympathy for the host's needs for making money by offering this barn as an alternative accommodation to the Ecco house, the barn simply does not have the capacity to do so and is not up to the standard for serving as basic accommodations. If I were the host(s), I would immediately take the barn out of the listing and stop referring the barn rooms as alternative accommodations to the Ecco house to the guests who are looking for the Ecco house as listed. This could adversely affect the reputation and credit of the hosts and cause confusion. I would not have agreed on giving the ecco house for that day we booked for to the other guests if we knew the condition of the barn rooms are so bad. Thanks.
