We really enjoyed staying at Clodia (website hidden) is absolutely perfect, very comfortable, extremely clean, with lots of details that really make a difference. We highly recommend this excellent address.
Alessia and paolo are great .the room is and nice and clean like the apartment.
Ideal place to visit the vatican .
This was my first time booking a room with Air BnB, so please keep that in mind, as I don't have much to compare it with.
That having been said, I had little to complain about during my stay. The room looks exactly as it does in the photo: extremely clean and pleasant, and great for what you're paying. I paid 35 euros to be picked up at the airport, and for first-time travelers or for anyone who doesn't want to deal with the BS of hailing a cab, I highly recommend this. There's also an accommodation tax (2 euros a night) to take into account.
The (very clean) bathroom comes with complimentary shampoo and although it is shared, because there was no one else staying in the other room during my stay, I was able to use it for myself. You also receive a ticket for a breakfast--coffee & cornetti--at the bar (café) down the street. It was raining during my entire four days in Rome, but they were kind enough to lend me an umbrella.
My one complaint is that the room was a bit chilly, and I had trouble communicating this to Paolo (I sent him a text, but I'm assuming he did not see it). The free snacks they leave for you on the desk (and replenish daily) were a wonderful touch, especially as I fell ill on my last day and could not get out of bed. The trade-off (for pleasant surroundings and affordable price) is that the place isn't exactly at the center of things. But twenty minutes of walking will get you to the nearest subway station (Ottaviano) and to the Vatican, and there's also a bus. And it's not at all unpleasant walking through the neighborhood of Pradi itself, which is green and pretty. Around the corner there's also a supermarket stocked with basic necessities and staffed by very friendly locals.
I would particularly recommend this place to families with children or older couples who value peace and quiet.
My experience at the Clodia House was amazing! I was unable to meet Alessia, however her brother Paolo met with us and was so helpful and accommodating! We received breakfast tickets for a cappuccino/tea with a croissant to a local cafe. Our room and the bathroom were both extremely clean. The pictures shown were exactly how the place looked liked. They even provided robes and slippers for us!
Someone came by each day to clean our room. Paolo gave us detailed information about getting around in the city. We were walking distance from the bus stop, which took us straight to all the historic attractions in the city. He even gave us personal recommendations of delicious local restaurants.
Thank you for making my experience in Rome so much better! I will definitely be back again!
Alessia and her brother Paulo were incredible! To begin with, the room was phenomenal. It truly was like staying at a 4 star hotel. The furnishings were modern and clean. Every detail was considered. The apartment is 2 bedrooms: 1 master (with a great view!) and one with 2 double beds. Seems like it would be perfect for a family to rent. There is a shared living room if you don't rent both rooms. The wifi connection was good. Everything was perfect. On top of that, Paulo was available at all hours to answer questions. The bus is very close by, but I think it is faster to walk to the metro station as the bus schedule seemed sporadic. Either way, the location is convenient for getting into town and seeing the sites. Truly a gem!!!
We stayed for 3 nights in this room, and it was great experience. Paolo welcomed us very graciously and explained us everything about the room. The room itself was super cleaned and organized and it included many ammenities, and breakfast was provided at the snack bar below. The house is a little far from the city center but it's about a 20min walk from the metro stop or there is a bus station about a 5min walk and a bus stop right around the corner. Great value for our money.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for our four nights in Rome, and the time we spent in the apartment was at least as pleasant as our time spent exploring the city. Alessia and Paolo run their top-notch bed and breakfast like a four star hotel we couldn't afford. The apartment has everything you'd need including a washer and fast wi-fi, but it's the numerous little touches (slippers, a wide variety of free snacks, a hillside view with a gorgeous sunset) that make Alessia's place the best in its class.
We enjoyed our stay at the Clodia House in the Magnolia room. Alessia gave us directions before we arrived and we easily found it. When we got there her brother met us and showed us around, answered any questions we had and even gave us a cellphone to use during our stay to call him if we needed anything. They provided vouchers so that we could each have a pastry and cappuccino at Bar Alex every morning for breakfast and the other pastries we purchased there were very good also, The apartment was very clean and the room was a good size and we had wireless access plus everything we needed. The location was excellent for us. There was a grocery store right around the corner and restaurants close by. We jumped in the bus and then caught the metro right up the street and could be in the center of Rome. The Vatican was about a 10 minute bus ride. It was nice to be away from the tourist crowds after a busy day and felt safe especially since we were on the 8th floor and there is a lift. We never even seen the other guests during our visit. It was quiet and there is a heavy duty shade that can be drawn so the room is dark at night. It was a great experience that made our visit o Rome better.
