Ross was very helpful, providing tons of information in an easy to use pack that covered everything from rentals (including discounts) through to instructors, places to eat and masseuses.
The chalet is basic, its large and caters to big groups well, but its simple. If you're looking for a basic, low cost place to stay, this chalet will suffice. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of town and close to a bus stop which makes it relatively convenient.
We were a big group of serious skiers and weren't bothered about having luxury amenities, so it worked for us at the price.
Great location, Walking distance to all that you need - even walkable to the Lifts if you don't want to use the bus system, yet its still out of the way and not in the busy center. Fully furnished kitchen, comfy beds and overall a neat and tidy great place to spend a few days with friends in the historical city. We had 5 friends stay and felt like it was as full as we would want. I think 6 adults would be a push. Other than that no complaints. Even has heated floors which are great after the snow!
We stayed in the chalet for four nights, with 9 adults (or at least fully grown men). Had a great time. Spacious living room with fireplace, good beds and bathrooms and most importantly the hot tub and sauna.
Ross sent me a welcome pack email in November, well before my date of arrival on the 9th January. The welcome pack included lots of useful information about the chalet, Chamonix and relevant local businesses. The welcome pack also included some discount codes for transfers and ski hire.
I contacted Ross a few days before arrival and he was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived in Geneva airport and made use of Mountain dropoffs, a transfer company, which we pre-booked with information from the welcome pack. Mountain Dropoffs provided a fantastic door to door service.
The staff from mountain highs in the chalet next door were very friendly and accommodating.
The chalet is massive and provided ample space for my friends and I. The chalet was very warm and comfortable. The hot tub was serviced on a daily bases, but unfortunately we didn't get around to using it.
We did have a few minor issues with the chalet but after we reported these a handyman arrived the next day to fix them.
There is a bus you can take into town that departs from the bottom of the drive. The buses however are not that frequent and so we would often walk into town (it's not that far - approx 12 min walk).
The chalet was functional and comfy, it had Wi-Fi which was ideal for checking on resort conditions each morning.
My only negative is that the ski locker is outside and doesn't have boot drying facilities.
The chalet was ideal for my friends and I, we hadn't seen each other in a Long time and so spent the whole time catching up or on the slopes. We had a fantastic holiday and plan not to leave it as long before catching up again.
This cute little chalet was perfect for myself and two travelling companions. Ross the host was always helpful during the booking process. It had everything you would need for a comfortable stay (including english TV which was an added bonus!). The ski storage room/washing room at the bottom was also a big plus. The location is perfect for the ski bus or a short walk in to the village. There is also a great pub within 2 minutes walk that does good English/American food (The Jekyll) and an AMAZING Italian restaurant next door to the pub (l'impossible). Would recommend highly and would definitely stay here again.
Chalet aspen was the perfect place for our crew to enjoy christmas away from home. They made us feel very welcome, threw in a christmas tree and decorations and were very helpful with anything to do with our stay. We couldn't be happier! Thanks guys
We stayed at Chalet Mammoth for the Christmas week, and the overall experience was good. The location was better than I expected: there's a bus connection to the center/slopes and a 10 min. walk to Chamonix Sud. The service of Ross and his team was responsive (e.g. help with transportation) and friendly starting with a welcome pack I received before the trip. The chalet was as described. We were a group of 10 friends, and we particularly enjoyed the social space (living room + kitchen) and having a large dinner table so that we were able to dine together. Also, the hot tub with superb views to Aiguille du Midi was just perfect after a day filled with sports! It was also nice to have a separate bathroom for each bedroom. However, the walls were thin, so we could hear what our friends were talking in their room. The chalet is also a bit worn-out and in need of proper cleaning & some fixing up (such as cleaning up the kitchen, replacing some old pots and pans, washing pillows and blankets, repairing hot tub jets and so on). This didn't disturb our holiday, but would improve the overall experience for future guests. But as said, we had a good week and enjoyed living in Chalet Mammoth. Thank you Ross!!
Good clean hostel, friendly informative staff. Walking distance from town center. Fast WiFi connection. All Good.
We enjoyed staying at this hostel. The common area kitchen, living room and dining area were very nice. It was very confusing to us that we were looking for Chalet Christol, but the name had very recently been changed. We would have appreciated knowing the correct name before we tried to find it. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hostel.
What a fantastic hostel! Very clean, very well presented. Actually one of the best hostels I've stayed in.
Large kitchen and a friendly atmosphere makes it easy and suitable to self cater for your stay.
Set just outside of town, a 20 min walk into chamonix, an easy one though. Being just outside it a bit quieter and location I'd great and the view from my room was pretty good.
Unfortunately didn't have time to use the jacuzzi and sauna :(
When I come back to chamonix I'll be booking up with mountain highs :)
