Before arrival, Jane and I exchanged a few emails as I had questions about the suitability of the area for a family of three, including a toddler.
She advised we take a taxi from the airport which was very helpful. The fare from the airport was around $40.
When we arrived we were astounded at how comfortable, well decorated and beautiful the house and neighborhood are. Shortly after our arrival and settling in Jane arrived and gave us a warm welcome. She was very attentive to my daughter, introducing her to Lizzie, her dog.
My daughter is quite shy but loves animals and meeting Lizzie really put her at ease.
Every day we would go 'visit ' Lizzie and Jane and discuss our plans for the next day or chit chat. It was very nice having Jane love on the property to answer any questions that may not be addressed in her comprehensive guide.
The neighborhood is safe, within a 15-20 minute walk you can reach banks, restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries as well as buses to downtown. I recommend buying the day pass bus ticket, it is worth the money.
The sink in the bathtub I had trouble figuring out how to turn it off but my husband figured it out in a couple of minutes.
We would definitely stay here again upon a return trip
Thanks Jane for making it such a personal experience!
Jane's place was just like in the pictures and a great place to stay in. It's a close 15-20 min drive or taxi ride to downtown Vancouver. The beds were both very comfortable and she had lots of towels for us to use. The kitchen is a nice size and we used it for a couple of meals; everything we needed to cook with was there. The living room has a nice view of the water and opens on to a balcony. She has a great guide book to help explain where things are and how to work stuff around the house. Also a few notes on Vancouver and things to do around the city.
Because our schedules didn't line up we didn't get to meet Jane until we were leaving but she's very nice and I wouldn't have any problem recommending her place for a stay.
Staying at Jane's house was my first Airbnb experience, and it was great. The process was easy, Jane's home was comfortable, and the whole experience was very convenient and affordable. The home itself was easy to access, with ample, free parking. The location was great, and conveniently located relative the major sights I wanted to see. Coming back to Jane's place every night after sightseeing was pleasant and felt very homey, which made my vacation significantly more enjoyable. A group of three of us all stayed, and the house was comfortably large enough for all of us. Jane was very accommodating, friendly, quick to communicate and reply to messages, and I would recommend this location to anyone.
Jane was a fantastic host! We had an absolutely wonderful time at Jane's place. It's a beautiful apartment, warm and cozy. The view is gorgeous and the location is very convenient with street parking and close to everything. We will definitely stay here again when we get back to Vancouver.
This was a lovely home to stay in. It was perfect for our needs. We had planned to do a bunch of exploring in the Vancouver area, but it was raining so we ended up spending most of our time on the couch reading by the fire. It ended up being a very relaxing mini vacation!
Jane had amazing directions and information for us and we really appreciated that. Thank you.
Thanks so much Angela, and hope you come back to Vancouver when the sun shines!
We stayed at Jane's wonderful house on wall street for 3 nights. The location was perfect. It had a beautiful view on the water and north shore mountains. The rooms were comfortable and Jane went out of her way to have the kitchen stocked with coffee, toast and breakfast essentials. You cannot find a more beautiful place to stay for that price in Vancouver. I highly recommend Jane's house with the killer ocean view.
Thanks Kevin, so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Jane's place is fantastic! It is even better in person than in the pictures. I had a lovely stay, Jane was super helpful, she had all the information we could need and more, I would have loved to have the chance to talk to her more, since she seemed like such a excellent person. This place has everything you need, I highly recommend this place.
Thanks Kiidra, hope we meet again and have more time to talk.
Jane was very welcoming and generous. The house was like staying at an old friends place for us!
Thanks Toni! Very sweet of you to say so.
Jane's place was beautiful! We walked in after a long drive and were immediately impressed by the view of the water and mountains at night, and the warmth of the fire. The little deck on the front of the house was a plus, along with Jane's very thorough instructions to the house (with great food recommendations! We tried to find food ourselves the first night, but as college kids, a lot was out of our price range. We ended up going with one of her suggestions.)
Jane was also full of suggested places to visit when we met her the morning after, most of which we ended up doing. It was great to hear from a local. In addition, she introduced us to her beautiful Karelian bear dog!
As our first Airbnb, we were blown away. We will definitely check if this place is available next time we are in Vancouver!
Nice place, great area - super cool watching the ships go by. Clean and spacious and a fluffy bed!
I felt at home in the sumptuous living room, panoramic picture windows Reveal a spectacular view of Grouse and the entire north shore mountains and active harbour. There is also a secret garden where one can listen to the song birds in peace. In addition this home is minutes from downtown by car or bus or bicycle and walking distance to beaches and shopping. You won't be dissapponted!
Jane has a great home with a killer view and perfect location — minutes to downtown and a few blocks to Highway 1, leading to Whistler. She is an avid gardener so I am sure you will enjoy her quiet and private backyard. I have been Jane's friend for several years and I know that her previous airbnb guests have been very satisfied with their stay.
