This apartment has a great location and the linens were clean. The rest of the apartment was dusty, run-down and not exactly as pictured (i.e: kitchen not painted yellow with matching light fixture, but rather walls were white and dingy; cardboard taped over a broken window pane in the back door).
We chose to stay in an apartment instead of a hotel to have use of a kitchen but decided to eat out anyway because of the state of the kitchen (and dirty dishes left in the sink).
Of note: if renting the entire apartment, the 2nd bedroom has just a mattress on the floor.
The apartment had a lot of character and potential, it just needs a little help. If you're looking for an inexpensive place near the park to rest your head and a bit of dust doesn't bother you, this place would likely be fine.
I visited Montreal during the summer for 5 nights to attend the Montreal World Film Festival. Justine is very kind and hospitable. She made my three friends and I feel welcomed. The description of her apartment was accurate and the neighborhood was safe, quite and beautiful. She also allowed us to use her room, because it had an extra sofa and bed.
Justine's place was in a good location on a quiet street close to Mont royal so you could get just about all you need in a short distance.
We never met the host but she hid a key for us and we left it in the same spot on the day of our departure.
The apartment was very big but a lot more run down then in the photos.
A lot of things were broken, hard to find and generally dirty.
There was a pile of dishes in the sink when we arrived and garbage that had flies in it. There was no lights in one of the bedrooms and one bedroom was significantly better than the other.
The listing advertises a 1.5 bathroom but only has a small water closet and the shower and sink are in another room.
The fridge was filthy and there was food and condiments spilled all over the inside.
We were so excited when we first arrived but it was the best start to a great weekend.
Overall we didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment and regardless had a great time in Montreal. It would have been fine if it was clean but the overall dirt and grunge was off putting.
Justine unfortunately double booked the weekend we were supposed to stay but was incredibly accommodating by finding alternative arrangements at a friends flat in the same neighbourhood. She was prompt with communication and even though there was a complication everything went smoothly and worked out well. Very professional.
Appartement de caractère décoré avec goût.
Nous n'avons pas rencontré Justine mais elle a répondu à nos questions par téléphone.
Le lit est étroit.
The department has a good location and the neighborhood is nice, because you can find a Metro Supermarket near the house and there is a beautiful park called Park de la Fontaine, it is wonderful. We share a little bit whit Justine but I think is a nice person. We found that the both room was too dirty, specially the second room we have to swept the first day and on the other hand the bed was uncomfortable and dirty as well.
Justine was an awesome host, helpful to show us happening places and gave great guiding advice. The house was half our experience in Montreal, had a great vintage homely feel.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Justine is a super cool girl, I really like her as a person, she has great style, and she offered tips about Montreal and the area. Her place has character but it isn't the absolute cleanest in the world (some trash left around on the front porch, garbage overfull in the kitchen, dishes unwashed in the kitchen), although it is definitely livable. Great location and fun place to stay, so I would recommend staying with Justine. If you have any animal concerns do reach out to talk to Justine before you arrive. My sister and I knew a dog would be there (we love dogs! the pup was very cute!) but we did not know there would be a cat. We are allergic to cats and Justine had gotten a cat just the day before we arrived, so this was less than ideal. Overall, a good experience!
Justine is a lovely guest. She is a seasoned traveller, respectful, clean and was easy to communicate with. We had a great time meeting her. I would highly recommend her as a guest!
Justine and her friends where great and I welcome them back any time
It was a pleasure to have the both of them. I wish they could have stayed longer. Thanks
Justine provides a cozy accommodation, in a clean, friendly and colorful environment for a fantastic price, with the best side kick dog in the world! The location is in a quiet neighborhood close to all amenities and transport. Being a world traveler herself, she takes the time to provide information on events and location catered to the visitor's interests!
I've known Justine for 8 months now and she was one of the first people I met when I arrived and am very lucky to meet someone so diverse, open-minded and friendly. She has a natural ability in communication (both French and English), as well as the ability to make someone feel calm and at ease- a real people person.
