We had a great time at Dan's beautiful home at Mt. Crochet. We went during a cold and snowy weekend but the house was super warm and cozy. We managed to get some snowboarding in as well. Dan was very responsive throughout the entire process. However, we didn't have cellular reception when we were at the house and pretty much the entire area. That made it difficult to communicate with him since the house didn't have internet either. If you have Verizon or AT&T, you should be fine.
The front of the house is made entirely of glass window. This is amazingly awesome during the day but we did feel a bit uncomfortable at night. Maybe it's a city dweller mentality. We might have jammed the blinds since we didn't close them correctly. I'm looking forward to hear back from Dan about their conditions.
After the foot of snow that we got during the weekend, Dan asked his neighbor to come over with her snow blower to help get oue car out of the driveway since he was away for work. Because we didn't know, we were almost done shoveling by the time she came over.
Overall, beautiful home with lots of movies and a great sound system. The fireplace is great as well. The lack of cellular reception and internet made it tough to communicate with Dan but it did provide us a break from our busy lives.
Excellent experience. Dan was extremely welcoming, and even accommodated our late night arrival by staying up to give us directions, instruct on pellet stove, etc. The house is large, well heated and well-stocked with kitchenware and basic non-perishables in case you forgot anything. Also nice that they allow tenants to use their TV and DVDs. The setting is also great - just minutes from Crotched, but set in a quiet and private wooded area. Also very much appreciate that Dan was pet friendly.
We had a great time. Bedroom setup was good. Heat was a little tricky but Dan was good at explaining the quirks. We basically came for skiing, which was perfect. Probably could have walked, but kids are little so we drove down the hill to the lodge.
Dan was super accommodating and the place was lovely. Unbeatable location for skiing at the nearby skiing resort and the town of Peterborough. Will definitely visit again.
We spent a week with our three young children in this charming little house. The house was very well equipped, Dan and Carol were very helpful and attentive and made us feel comfortable. The house is well situated with numerous opportunities for walking, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing a short drive away. The house was well supplied with games which was great for the children. We highly recommend this house.
We spent the fourth of July weekend at this house and we could not have had a more wonderful time. The house is perfectly situated in a peaceful, beautiful part of New Hampshire and close to lovely mountains and lakes, which makes it great for outdoor activities.
The place itself is spacious, charming and well-equipped. It perfectly accommodated the four of us. With a full kitchen and a grill, you can do some proper cooking in a relaxing setting. There are also many movies and board games that kept us entertained. All around, it's a great space to relax and close enough to a couple of quaint cities that are worth a look.
Dan and Carol were absolutely fantastic, staying in touch with us throughout our stay and doing all they could to make sure we enjoyed our time. I would highly recommend this mountain house and our great hosts.
I came to New Hampshire to visit my mom who has been pretty sick. The cabin was a cozy peaceful place that I could come home to at night, in an emotional time. Daniel and Carol were great in that they made sure I had what I needed, but left me the space I needed too. Thank you!
This was a cozy, homey great little house with nice hosts in a beautiful part of New Hampshire.
The house was really comfortable, spacious, and equipped. High, vaulted ceilings, great living room for lounging, perfect for cooking dinners, etc. Daniel and Carol were very accommodating and responsive and were able to host us in rather short notice. The area of NH itself is great too, great outdoors activity options (we snowshoed) and quaint town centers. I would definitely return to both the area as well as the property!
My boyfriend and I stayed for Valentine's weekend! The house has amazing views and is very cozy. It snowed everyday and it is very close to skiing! We only met Dan but he was very accommodating especially with all of the snow that (was never ending) was surrounding the property! He went over where everthing is in the house and it is fully stocked! All of the essentials for cooking , it has washer/dryer /dishwasher and blankets galore! The house is set back in the woods so it was perfect back drop for a relaxing getaway. They have a great collection of movies and board games! We definitely enjoyed the house and can't wait to visit again!
