The cottage was charming as advertised and very clean. Sarah was very accomodating when we called her to confirm and had some welcome treats waiting for us. The cottage has a very nice vibe to it - very earthy and relaxing. Good WIFI if you need it (but poor cell signal). I'm a fly fisherman and loved the cold spring waters of Elk Creek just off the deck (but these wild brown trout are not easy).
Excellent logement dans une très agréable maison.
L'accueil de la propriétaire était aussi parfaite.
Je recommande vivement ce cottage.
A very pleasant place to stay. Sarah was very easy to communicate with and made sure the cottage had everything we needed. The location is definitely charming and the rushing creek is just out side the back door. Birds fly in and visit and you step out the back door and are immersed in nature. A wonderful place to escape to. The place is sparkling clean, cosy and comfortable. We breakfasted and dined on the deck-serenity! Elk Creek cafe in Millheim for fine dining and live music.
Sarah's cottage was the perfect respite for my fiancee and I who really needed a quiet weekend alone together. The cottage has a thoughtful but relaxed decoration, the kind of place you feel at home in almost immediately. I loved that the house was bright with sun coming through the back windows (that look out on the creek) that made the house feel open, but that it also had all the front windows closed/well-blinded to ensure totally privacy and quietness (there are neighbors and the house is street side, but we didn't get much noise apart from occasional traffic). She left oranges and scones from the local coffee shop in the fridge for us for breakfast, and had all the cooking necessaries that we needed to cook our own meals. We attended the local farmer's market on saturday (incredibly quaint, very small -- but an incredible gem!). Things to consider: there is one fairly mediocre local restaurant, and one pizzeria accessible ~1mi away, so you may want to plan to cook for yourself (wegman's 30min away, local grocery store 10min away by car).
We loved the cottage and would highly recommend it. We were looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax. The cottage is right along a beautiful creek and accessible to many hiking trails. Also got lunch at a local cafe.
Beautiful cottage in a quiet setting. Millheim is wonderful and the middle of town is just a short walk away. We also really enjoyed the beautiful trails just near the house for morning walks/runs. The house was clean, comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. Sarah was super nice and great to deal with.
My 6 girlfriends and I stayed at the cottage for a long weekend- it was the perfect size, cozy and comfy.
Sarah was the greatest host! She stocked the fridge with delicious breakfast foods on our first day in the house and stopped by the next day to help us with the wifi.
She recommended fun things to do in town (a concert at the local Elk Creek Cafe) and was overall so generous and welcoming.
The house was beautiful- overlooking a creek, a quick walk from town, with a beautiful kitchen that was easy to cook in.
We had such a great weekend in Millheim and we have Sarah to thank!!
My stay at the cottage was great. I went up for Penn State's Homecoming and the house was not too far away from campus. The hosts were very hospitable, leaving bagels and fruits for us. I would definitely recommend staying here for a quiet getaway.
My friend and I stayed at this lovely cottage for a weekend of rest and relaxation. We loved the home--clean, cozy, and perfect for a weekend away from busy life. We spent a lot of time on the large deck which is just feet away from a creek. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials. We loved the large soaking tub which overlooks the creek and wooded area beyond the creek. The bed was comfy with fresh linens. A small town is a half mile down the road and boasts a tasty brew pub with vegan options on the menu, a shop full of local art, a coffee shop, and a thirft store. The host was wonderful and gave us recommendations for where to hike and tube nearby. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a restful weekend retreat.
The cottage we stayed was very mince and was as described. It was perfect for a short stay
It was a real pleasure to host Sarah in our house. She is such a gracious, polite and discreet guest, we wish she had stayed longer. She will warmly be welcomed back anytime.
Sarah was easy to work with and a pleasure to host! Other Airbnb owners are terrific renters!
Sarah and her husband were very easy guests! They were clean and neat and very response to coordinate with. I would be happy to host them again in the future!
Sarah was a great guest!!! We definitely recommend her to any other guests.
