this is my former home. now i moved but i like it so much that don't want to sell it. it was a great place to live. i hope you'll like as much as i do.
The host couldn't have been nicer. He worked with us through airline delays and made us feel at home. The apartment was just what we were looking for giving us the feeling of old Lisbon. Loads of sidewalk cafes and little shops and cobblestone streets.
My friend and I Celebrated New Year in Lisbon and spent beautiful week in Paulo's place.
It's realy authentic apartment with genuine atmosphere, extrathick stone walls, seems that survived centuries. It's sth special to explore old Lisbon and Alfama district.
However all you need for comfortable living nowadays is present there.
It'c closed to citycenter, to nice castle, to the station, to the river.
Paulo welcomed us warmly and provided with all information including historical overview.
The only minus it's possible to mention is lack of direct daylight from the street, so a bit dark inside.
We both feel really grateful and definetely ready to recommend the place to the tourists. To my mind, it is the best option for couples or 1 or 2 male tourists.
Great stay in Lisbonn in this apartment in the old center, close to the metro station, Paulo was a great host, I reccomend it
Paulo met us at the appartment and gave us a warm welcome and supplied lots of useful information about local sights and services. I wish I had written some of them down as we couldn't remember all the recommendations and directions on how to find them after he'd gone!
The host canceled this reservation 21 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Paulo is super nice, he's been really helpful with directions and advice regarding places to eat and go out and was always sharp on time for check in and check out. The apartment is very nice and carachteristic, maybe a little smaller than it looks like in the pictures but perfect for a couple or some friends. The location is absolutely perfect, at walking distance from basically anything in Lisbon and Alfama was our favourite district in the city. We had a small accident with the bath tub as some water spilled out of it through a little crack while we were bathing and kinda flood the bathroom floor but we told Paulo right away and he's going to fix it so I'm sure you won't have the same problem in the future if you plan to stay at his apartment. The flat is right on one of the nicest streets in Alfama full of good places to eat, listen to fado or drink something so it might get a little noisy at night but we didn't mind, just avoid it if you need complete silence to fall asleep, other than that go for it!
Great place for us to use as a base for our stay in Lisbon. Loved sitting by the windows looking over the rooftops and out to the river (and the various cruise liners which appeared everyday), whilst having breakfast. The house had plenty of equipment to allow us to prepare meals, if we wanted, but to be honest the fact that there were so many restaurants within a 10 minute walk was far too enticing. Paulo met us at the house and gave us plenty of information about Lisbon; he was a really friendly guy who was happy to answer our questions. Recommended if you want to be in the Alfama district.
