I absolutely loved hosting Janet and Scott Savoy. They are a very sweet couple. Janet and I discussed vacation renting options and issues from the hosts perspective. She offered valuable information and advice. Scott was always very complimentary and helpful. They were both very appreciative of every effort that I made. It is so important to me to offer a wonderful stay for all of my guests, hearing that it mattered meant the world to me.
They were so easy going that once they were settled in their suite they required very little from us. They appeared quite comfortable and navigated their stay independently. During their stay they were very quiet. Upon their departure, they left the suite very clean.
I would be honored and do hope to host The Savoys again in the future.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Scott and Janet Savoy to all AirBnB hosts.
Janet and Scott were great guests. They were fun, friendly and engaging. They served as foster parents for underprivileged kids which we greatly admired about them. They also have property that they are considering opening up to airbnb guests- they would be superb hosts. We were happy to host them for the Big Island portion of their Hawaiian vacation. They arrived on a Wednesday so we were able to direct them to the Wednesday night celebration in Kalapana (also referred to as the Wednesday night farmers market at Uncle Robert’s). The celebration features live music, lots of local hot food and tons of authentic Hawaiian enjoyment. Visitors can also walk out onto the relatively new lava flow there and view hot flowing lava off in the distance. Janet and Scott said “it was a hoot.” They also took the lava boat tour that takes you out to where lava is flowing into the ocean. They said that it was spectacular and got to feel the warmth of the water surrounding them. Janet made mention of the lava shelves that form and collapse beneath the ocean’s surface and even expressed concern that the boat captain may have gotten too close to the shelf that was forming beneath them at that very moment. They also took a helicopter tour to see the lava from the air and also the waterfalls from above. In addition, they toured the Kalapana-Kapoho corridor which includes Ahalanui Park (also known as Warm Pond), a geothermally heated tidepool that attracts visitors from all over the island, Isaac Hale Beach Park where the lava tour boats launch and surfers congregate, Mackenzie State Park which is dotted with steamy lava tubes and one of the best views of the ocean and, of course, the Kapoho tidepools, considered one of the best snorkeling spots on the east side of the Big Island. They enjoyed many other places on the Big Island including Punalu’u Beach and South Point (the southernmost point in the United States which boasts a green sand [crushed gemstone] beach). They stayed out late every night but we were finally able to offer them some fresh fruit smoothies on their last night here. We also laid out the customary fruit plate, salami & cheese plate, assorted bagels, pastries and cereals for breakfast and made coffee and tea available each morning and we were happy that that they enjoyed it. We even spelled out different words in fresh pineapple chunks on each morning’s fruit plate that they seemed to enjoy. They also enjoyed the friendly, colorful gecko’s that are both fun and entertaining as they explore the lanai and deck. We were happy that they took advantage of so many of the spectacular activities that the Big Island offers. We thoroughly enjoyed Janet and Scott’s visit and would be happy to host them again the next time they find themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We would also recommend them to other hosts. Thank you, Janet and Scott.
I didn't actually meet these guests but according to my partner Jennifer Scott and Janet are a very nice couple. They were very quiet, and left the place nice and clean. No problems at all. Thanks! :)
