Wonderful folks, Altair and wife, Maysa, who stayed with me last year, and again this year!
Well-traveled, educated and informed of world issues, gracious, etc. (we had lively conversations)
They like to cook and often offered to share.
I was called out of town unexpectedly and Maysa even cleaned my house for my next Airbnb guests who arrived here before I did!
Consider yourselves very lucky if you ever have a chance to host them!
Altair and his wife, Maysa, from Brazil, stayed here last year and came back for another stay until they could find an apartment for their longer stay this year. They are an amazing couple, very generous, courteous, great conversationalists and are interested in exploring places wherever they go . They are like family to me now! She places international students from Brazil and other countries to our local community college here; edits books and has many other interests. He is a plasma and nuclear physicist and mathematician and a full professor at university in Rio de Janerio. He is here as a volunteer professor teaching a class at our local university for one semester.
Altair has stayed here before and is always a pleasure to have as a guest. He is from Brazil, a full professor, nuclear/plasma physicist, founder of after school programs and meals for children in the slums. He is a wonderful conversationalist and is gracious, intuitive and lots of fun. Both he and his wife (she places international students for our community college) are like family now.
Consider yourselves very lucky if you ever have a chance to host these wonderful folks!
I don't know where to start! Altair and Maysa, from Brazil, were amazing guests! By the time they left, I felt like family. Their daughter graduated from college and university in this area, so they were familiar with it and also knew people here. They had fun knocking on doors and surprising some folks here! They are very family oriented and warm and included me in some of their plans. They also had some friends over and Maysa cooked a full common Brazilian dinner, which was amazing, and I got to finish off the leftovers after they left - yummy!
Altair is a full professor, physicist and founder of a small home for children from the slums; Maysa recruits international students for our local community college. Extremely well-informed folks, gregarious and fun, with extensive traveling in their background made for interesting discussions (often over a glass of wine). Maysa got me setup for (website hidden) and she introduced me to her daughter in Germany on (website hidden).
Maysa took advantage of the shopping for things most often not available in Brazil and Altair enjoyed riding a friends bicycle in the park and exploring the area. They were able to take some other short excursions and enjoyed exploring. They stayed a week, but were so neat they barely left a footprint. Wonderful people, wonderful guests and I look forward to seeing them here again! Don't miss the opportunity to meet them if they inquire about a stay with you!
