This place was stunning and cozy! Kerry was awesome at communication the whole time and left us wood for the fireplace, bikes for getting around town, a whole bag of local coffee and lots of tips for sights and sounds in the area. The neighborhood is gorgeous and convenient and the neighbor was super nice and even let us borrow her muffin tins when we had a Thanksgiving cupcake emergency. We loved this place and will stay here again when we come back to town.
Kerry's place was great! He lives within walking distance to most everything and he was incredibly helpful with directions and suggestions. Thanks Kerry!
Kerry's a great guy, friendly, laid-back, and gives good advice on things to see and places to go.
His house is in a nice older residential neighborhood near downtown, and his pets (two dogs, Gunner and Willow, and a curious black cat, Darby) are all extremely friendly and will follow you around the house in search of that extra pat on the head! =]
Kerry's place has definitely (email hidden)d in, homey' style, so if you're expecting a sterile, hotel-like environment, this is definitely not it. We're not 'hotel people', so Kerry's was great for us. And we had full access to the kitchen and laundry facilities with no fuss (a BIG plus).
The only thing we'd change is perhaps having a bit more furniture in the room – a nightstand, chair, reading lamp, and the like (we had the upstairs Cali King room). But the bed was *extremely* comfy, and that's job one for any place you stay in. =]
Kerry's a cool cat with a, well, cool cat (and dogs), and we'd recommend his place to anyone looking for that laid-back 'at home' vibe.
Kerry has a beautiful home with a grand front porch and yard. His son and dogs are really cute and fun to be around. The place has great walk or bikeability to all of beautiful Bend. Kerry was a wonderful host and even laid out some great coffee and a french press.
We floated the Deschutes twice on tubes and used the local transit to put back in up the river. My wife and I totally recommend going to 10 Barrel Brewery for tasty handcrafted beers and eating at the Victorian Cafe for breakfast (WOW). Lava Butte and the Obsidian fields of Newberry Caldera south of Bend are must visits.
WE WANT TO MOVE TO BEND REALLY REALLY BAD NOW!!!
Kerry and his son are wonderful and hospitable hosts! I was on a solo weekend trip to Bend and I got some great local intel on trails and hiking/running areas. The house was clean, the kitchen was open and the dogs are sweet and friendly (if you see Gunner's teeth, he's smiling, not growling!). I would definitely stay again!
Kerry's place is in a perfect location walking distance to the historic downtown of Bend. Bend itself is a great place to visit if you haven't been. I really enjoyed it. Plenty of terrain for road and mountain biking right out the door. It's a small town with some nice urban touches. And very safe - you can front lock the door but it's probably not necessary.
Kerry was a great host. I had the upstairs to myself and made use of the kitchen. Kerry has very friendly dogs and a cat who shadowed me while I made my way around. I felt very much at ease and home.
If you're in Bend I recommend Kerry's place highly and definitely way above staying in a hotel/motel. You've got more room and access to things you need and you get to meet Kerry and his pets in the process.
Kerry was a great host. Perfect location for downtown activity. No problems whatsoever. Private quarters and comfy bed, can't go wrong. Anyone who has a chance to stay with Kerry will most definitely enjoy their experience in Bend!
clean, quiet, respectful guest. We would host Kerry again any time.
Great guest - great communication! Thanks!
Kerry and his son were great guests - friendly, quiet, and clean. We would love to host them again and would not hesitate in recommending them to other airbnb hosts.
