I don't want to say disparaging things about the French. I lived in france, I speak French, and I have great French friends. But after this French family stayed at my apartment in SF, I feel like not even dealing with them anymore.
The instructions for my house are VERY detailed. I have instructions for everything including how to get there and how to get in. I explain that is is older and has some creaks in grown before people book. I explain that I won't be there as I work over the road. I explain so many things, and tell people a few times to read the instructions as they are VERY important.
This family would not stop sending me emails asking about things that were explicitly written in the instructions. Multiple times I had to explain it again until finally I just had to start replying 'read the instructions'.
And then they reviewed me badly for all the things that were already very clear and explicit (older apartment, I'm not there, etc.)
I don't know what this family expects as far as an optimal experience (my place is spotless, comfortable, has everything inside an is in downtown SF) but I doubt they will find it with you or anywhere. I find that the French often like to complain, but this family has it down pat.
