The treehouse at Yanakie is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to explore Wilson's Prom. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay - although you should take your own speakers of you would like to listen to music - but the birds are lovely too!
Great retro treehouse with warmth and an amazing view in the upstairs living area! A true escape from the city.
Simple and clean bedrooms and bathroom downstairs.
Ivan was easy to deal with and the check in/out was a breeze.
Ivan was great. He arranged for a nice fire to but lit and even brought us a salad bowl. The house was perfect for a get away to the prom. We really enjoyed it there
Unfortunetely the tree house was unvailable but his second house was very nice with a beautiful garden very close to the promotory park.
The home is in a great location, very close to Wilsons Prom National Park, and with nice views over farmland. The house is very basic and rustic, but it has all that you need. Ivan is a good communicator, always quick to answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely time here for a weekend getaway to the Prom. The accommodation was spacious, with fully functioning kitchen, a fireplace (which was set up ready to light) and comfortable beds. The views to the surrounding farms were absolutely beautiful, and sitting in the garden in the morning sunshine with our coffees was made even better by a wide variety of bird life chirping around us. Ivan was easily contacted and came to personally check that everything was okay for us. We would stay here again.
Communication with Ivan was very easy and friendly. We enjoyed the great location of this nice house with beautiful herbal garden, front and backyard. The close location to Wilsons Prom Gate is perfect for day trips to the Prom.
Ivan is a nice and welcoming host. He was very flexible with arrival time and all booking issues.
The house has a nice garden and beautiful view. The only thing we were not happy with was that the house was pretty dirty. We had to wash all the dishes before being able to use them. We didn't feel like cooking in the house or touching anything more than necessary.
The location is perfect though for visiting Wilsons Prom during the day.
This review is for Ivan's other listing, "Tree House", not "House". Most of our Aussie trip was carefully planned out ahead of time, but our last 4 nights (The Great Ocean Road and Wilson's Promontory) we did on on the fly for maximum flexibility. Thus we were driving on Melbourne freeways late afternoon, and decided we should spend that night as close to Wilson's Promontory National Park as possible. Ivan responded to our inquiry right away, gave us directions, and some advice about local highway construction going on. The Tree House couldn't be lovelier! Cozy, quirky design, all the amenities, and a bird's eye panoramic view from the kitchen/dining area of enchanted surrounding woods, and The Prom in the distance. Wilson's Promontory was the crown jewel of our visit. Better than the Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, or Grampians National Park.
We arrived later in the day after exploring the Prom, around 7pm. It wasn't long before Ivan came by and informed us the power was out in the area and expected it to return in about 2 hours. He pointed out where the BBQ was and some firewood/kindling for a light/heat source. He graciously helped us light some candles before taking some back to his house. The power was restored in only 30 minutes so it wasn't a big deal.
After the power came back on we enjoyed a nice dinner and were exhausted so slept like rocks. The area is classic Australian farm land, and the stars and view from the house were amazing. Very remote area, the only sounds we heard were the cattle.
Great spot being so close to the Prom and nice to sleep in a proper bed rather than a tent, especially after a hike to the summit of Mt Oberon. Great for a long weekend trip!
Ivan has stayed with us before so it was nice to have him stay again. He is always pleasant and communicates well. Geoff and Pam

Ivan stayed only one night , he was polite and left the space clean
Ivan was an unobtrusive guest, whom I hardly knew was there. I'd be happy to welcome him back anytime.
Ivan happened to get here on the 4th of July from Australia. Here's what small towns do... yikes! Sounded like a war zone. anyway he said he caught up on his sleep, not sure how, but i hope so. He left the place clean and exactly the way he found it. i appreciate that. i hope he comes back on his next trip, just not on Independence Day!
Ivan was a quiet and pleasant guest.
I would love to host Ivan anytime; a lovely gentleman
