Twu was a great host! Answered messages promptly and offered to take us on hikes but unfortunately our schedules didn't match. The condo itself was decent, great location and clean. It was small, but for purposes of just going there to sleep it was great for the price. Twu got us a $10 parking pass but you do risk not getting a spot if you return home too late (past 10pm) as there are only around 30 spots for two buildings. Some nearby metered and free parking in that case if you're lucky. Twu also bought for us a brand new water kettle when we inquired about it prior to the trip, and brought us extra bowls and an extension cord!
The studio is conveniently located two blocks from the Waikiki beach and surrounded by all the restaurants and supermarkets. This place has everything you need for your stay, even a simple kitchen if you like to cook something. Having laundry in the building was very helpful as well.
Twu is a great host! Gave us all necessary recommendations and even took us to watch sunrise on the beautiful beach.
Twu is very hospitable and kind. If your on a budget you will not regret going with his place. I highly recommend it.
awesome place, my friend had a wonderful time staying here
Twu was an excellent host! Twu is very friendly and responded quickly to any queries we had. My boyfriend and I had a great time in Wakiki staying at his condo. The place was clean and had everything we needed.
The condo is very central and is surrounded by ABC stores and restaurants. We especially recommend trying the veggie spring rolls (and cheap cocktails) at Keoni by Keo's, which is only 2 blocks away.
If you are attending a conference at the convention center, Twu's place is also perfect. I either took a bus ( 5-10 minutes), but mostly walked (25-30 minutes) to the convention center.
Twu also took us on a sunrise hike, which was absolutely incredible and took us to the beautiful Mermaid cave. We had an absolutely fantastic time, definitely recommend Twu's place and would stay again.
Everything is great. Especially Location is fantastic. Convenience store, good restaurants, Waikiki beach etc. highly recommended.
I went to stay in Waikiki for a week on my own, before my wedding. So very glad I picked Twu's place! Twu is a wonderful host. He is very welcoming, accommodating and goes above and beyond for his guests. The hikes were incredible! And the condo was very clean. Small, but has everything you need! Only 1 minute walk to the beach as well. Thank you so very much Twu! I'll be coming back!!!
Twu is a great host! Place is clean with good bed as well.. Great location in waikiki a couple blocks from the beach... Go on one of his hikes too if you can they are great! Thx Twu!!
We want to thank Twu for a very relaxing stay at her home. We felt welcomed and it did feel like being at home. The location was wonderful. A short to walk everywhere we wanted to go to. Thank you to Twu,too, for making us feel welcomed.
I arrived in Honolulu, rented a car and drove to Waikiki around 11pm which was easy enough. The place was quite easy to find. Twu Yong offers a parking pass in the CCTV'd lot underneath the building for $10 a day, quite fair as the nearest place to find parking would be a 15min walk away and not guaranteed. The accommodation was a clean, quiet 7F bachelor suite on Prince Edward St, included A/C, TV, internet, microwave, bar fridge, toaster oven, utensils, and plates. Twu Yong did offer to take me on a couple hikes, but they were on days I was either too lazy to go or too tired from surfing :) I did however appreciate the offer very much. The location is 1 block from a great Korean BBQ restaurant, a great musubi/bento place, a surf shop, a breakfast place with nice pancakes, and 2 blocks from the beach!
I would say that I got really lucky with staying at Two Yong's place. I've never been to Hawai'i and had no plans on how to even get around and what to see. He was eager to share his knowledge of the beautiful island and with him I got to go on hikes and saw things I would not have if he was not the person I stayed with. I was on a budget and it really helped that he shared his food, had free breakfast and even took me to the airport! (that's a 50 dollar cab ride right there that I saved). All in all, I highly recommend staying here. It will be good for you, your pocket and your adventurous self :)
I am glad I met Twu Yong after moving to Hawaii. He is a sincere person and a great friend who embodies the true meaning of the aloha spirit. He is also very fit and stays active. Ask him about taking you on a guided hike.
