We were really dissapointed with this apartment,it was nothing like the pictures portrayed ! The main front door to the unit is split & cracked & ready to fall to bits. Dust is thick on all surfaces & paint cracking & lifting. Requires a complete renovation & refurbishment especially the bathroom. Shower curtain is full of mould and should be thrown out & replaced. The bed mattress is uneven & feels like you are on a slope ! We did not feel safe in the neighbourhood at night with police sirens going close by for most of the night. We paid good money for this place & feel so cheated & ripped off !
We really enjoyed the location of the apartment in a non touristy calm and pleasant Capitol Hill neighbor, conveniently close to buses and Eastern market metro. Dealing with Julia was great as well, she was responsive and clear on her instructions. The apartment is not brand new as the photos may suggest and was unfortunately somehow dusty.
We stayed two nights at Julia's place and enjoyed it very much. Julia was quick to reply to our reservation request and all questions were answered immediately. Check-in was smooth and the apartment was clean and well-organized when we arrived. Julia even left us a parking pass and two Metro cards. The location of the apartment is excellent as it's near the Metro. The building does show its age, but we weren't bothered by this. Julia was accommodating and noninvasive - we'd recommend her apartment to others visiting the capital.
We stayed two days in Julia's apartment, the apartment was clean, it may deserve to be a small matter renovation paint the bathroom?
It's near the city center, we have been into town and used city's bikes for $ 7 a day and the first 30 minutes free.
My husband and I had a nice 4 day trip to DC. Julia's apartment worked out well for us. It was the perfect location - just a short walk to the Eastern Market Metro. The apartment was just as we expected - nothing extravagant, but perfect for our taste.
Julia was great. She provided us with all the information we need prior to our stay, checkin in was easy, and there was a permit for parking (if you are driving in).
The kitchen is small but allowed us the option to prepare small meals when convenient. We did forget towels. Luckily Julia had left two that we were able to use.
Julia's apartment was the perfect location to crash during my two days of meetings on Capitol Hill-- just a few blocks to the Eastern Market metro. The decor is very charming and it was clean and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable also!
She provided all the necessary info. prior to my stay and it was easy to pick up the keys.
The apartment was absolutely wonderful -- quaint, clean, located just blocks away from the Eastern Market and the Metro -- and Julia was a fabulous host. I cannot say enough good things about her friendliness or her accommodations. We had a fantastic time,
The apartment was just as we expected and perfect for our long weekend after a conference. It's quiet and cozy. The metro (and starbucks, grocery, etc) are near by, and a cab fare from downtown wasn't too bad either. Don't plan to make elaborate meals but the kitchen and mini fridge are perfect for making a light breakfast or late night sandwich. Over all had a great time that was highlighted by our stay with Julia who was consistently available and helpful.
Julia and her friend were wonderful guests. They made themselves at home, had fun cooking, were open and friendly, super quiet at all the right times, and cleaned up after themselves as if it were their own place. I usually leave all my guest a bottle of wine- she switched it up on me and left ME a bottle of wine. What a great surprise!
