Thanks for the review. I really enjoyed having Rebecca, but the reason guests must go through the doorman is for security – I don’t know of any building in Manhattan with a doorman that doesn’t’ require a tenant to give them the names of guests and say they have permission to stay in the apartment. This is standard, and it’s against the rules of our building to give out our key cards – I would be subverting the rules of my building if I did that. Then anyone could come in with the guests. It’s really a very quick, simple entry process – Their names are in the doorman’s computer and the guest just announces their name. And they go in. I have many names in the computer: friends (so they can just come up), my daughter, cleaning people, cat sitter, etc. So don’t be wary -- it’s all for our safety (though Chelsea, right off the High Line is a super safe neighborhood!). Thanks for letting me clarify.
