We stayed 3 nights at Çirali homestay. Diana is a really kind and helpful person and we really admire her for creating this big project by herself. You really feel into the nature and far from touristic areas. Every night there is a big fire and music and that create a really cool mood.
On the downside, for the asked price we expected more. There was no included breakfast contrary to the airbnb description. The cleanliness of the common areas was questionnable (one of the 2 bathroom doors don't even close) and part of the site was more of a work in progress.
So this place is not for everyone: if you are looking forward to meet nice and new people from all around the planet (there are many volunteers living at Çirali in addition to the other airbnb guests), you should definitely go there. But if you are looking for a more intimate environnement maybe you should not book there.
We wish the best to Diana, this is a nice project :)
Staying at Diana's was just what we needed. It's a beautiful escape into nature and simplicity mixed with warm-hearted people. She gave us great advice on hiking and interesting places to visit nearby. Diana welcomed us into her home with open arms and we felt like we were very much apart of the little community she has built. We would love to visit again.
Diana has taken great care to craft a unique guest experience. Diana is very welcoming as you arrive amongst stunning mountains with access to the beach. The farm is set away from the busy town and is quite save for roosters and ducks. The tent is spacious and beautifully designed, but don't expect hotel style luxuries. Diana is continually improving her various listings and I look forward to returning in the future. Give Diana's a try for a unique and fun AirBnB experience!
We went to Diana's place to spend some days in the nature and to relax. Her home is in an amazing location in the mountains and everything is very affectionately decorated. She shared everything with us. So we felt directly more than welcome. There were also bikes waiting for us. So the way to the village and the beach was very short. We slept in the Yurt and we felt like in a fairy tale of 1001 night. Diana gave us many advices for activities and special places to visit or for a good meal and accompanied us.
We enjoyed our stay a lot!
Thank you for a special and wonderful vacation!! We hope to return one day!!
Diana created a little paradise on earth. Her home is in an amazing location in the mountains and everything is very affectionately decorated. She shared everything with us. We enjoyed our stay a lot! We are happy that we chose this lovely place with this lovely owner.
Thank you for a special and wonderful vacation!! We hope to return one day, maybe when the carettas emerge!! :)
What to say... thinking of Diana's forest retreat having only left one day ago summons up a wealth of memories and emotions... arriving in the middle of a thunderstorm to a lonely forest treehouse we realised that the one thing your host cannot control is the weather... Our somewhat subdued spirits were immeasurably perked up when Diana arrived 5 minutes later with the soon to be instantly recognisable sound of her sputtering scooter. She has a wild, adventurous and generous spirit, quick to gauge the measure of her guests, and gave us an informative lowdown of the area and her history. Both were elaborated over the next few days as accompaniment to early (or not that early) morning cups of coffee and tea, midday fruits from the gardens, eggs from the gaggle of hens, and late night bottles of wine as the weather improved and we were lucky to enjoy some beautiful end of summer sun and watch the seasons start to turn.
The delightful location, secreted what feels like miles from 'civilization' is a valley floor, overlooked by pine forests and rocky outcrops and the smells and sounds of nature in all its glory. If you have ever been and enjoyed camping, or a back to nature cabin or want a sojourn from the cumbersome comforts of modern life, you will love it. If you want the trappings of a * hotel or hostel, TV, AC etc. you will not. This is not a hostel, it is someone's home, with a tent in the garden, an outdoor kitchen and a woodburner in the living room which you are welcome to share. Embrace it and look after it and it will look after you...
Çirali is gorgeous, standing on a path one evening we realised that spinning around on the spot we could see 3 types of palm trees, pomegranate and lemon trees, the turquoise sea, the beach, sheer faced cliffs, autumn leaves, a cat, a dog, a goat and a lizard, pine trees, laurel, a river bed and the mountains. The village is small, mostly composed of restaurants and guesthouses. There are 3 small supermarkets where you can get all necessities and cash for a 7% commission (the nearest ATM is at the Olympic junction some 5 km away) Diana's place is a brisk 20mins walk from the village and a further 5 to the beach with Olympos at the southern end and the flames of Chimera / Yanartaş 2 km to the North. Diana lent us some bicycles perfect for the hike into town and we spent our week trekking back and forth, meeting local characters and Diana's friends and thoroughly enjoying 'getting away from it all'
We cannot recommend this place highly enough, it won't be for everyone, but perfect for those who want it, we left after a week having fallen in love with Çirali, the people, the forest, mountains and sea and with our wonderful hostess. See you soon...
thank so much. This is a beautiful review! I definitely want to see you again, my friends:)
The yurt was definitely cool. Really spacious. At that time it was a bit cold out and even rained one night, but all was warm and dry inside. Dian was really helpful too.
When we went to the treehouse Diana was not at home, her neighbors found us, very friendly, we love this tree house, although there is no lock, but very safe. There is a super large yard, full of flowers. Diana second day come back home, we hurried to see the side, the third day, she took us to the beach. This is really beautiful. She helped us to booking the hotel in Goreme, that‘s great. Please give our regards to Aden, Ersan. We miss you, strongly recommended here.
Diana made us feel very welcome, we arrived a bit late but she was waiting for us around the bonfire (!) with a bowl of delicious home-made lentil soup. She stayed with us at the table and told us about her fascinating story and free-spirited way of life . She built this magic place by herself, and everything there is so inspiring - including and especially - our lovely tree house, so spacious and quirky. Everyone had their privacy but we could have a communal life - on our second night there the other two guests (a lovely French couple of climbers) taught us how to play backgammon. You are in the forest yet 5 minutes away from the beach, in this unspoiled piece of heaven on earth.
We had to cancel our second night because something came up but decided to stay instead and forget about our commitments and make the most of our time there.
Diana and her animals (there is Ganesha the cat and the chickens and the ducks and all the birdies in the trees - you are in the forest, remember?) made us dream about a better world.
I would definitely come again and recommend this to everyone who is looking for a wild but super comfy getaway!
Thank you Diana! All the best*
