I am an architect that loves being central to the city! I appreciate great cafes, good food and design.
I only met Luke briefly before he went on holiday, but he was friendly and got me settled in. The space is huge and easy to spread out. It is a bit noisy being at street level, but earplugs will cure that. The kitchen is fairly small, but gets the job done, although it could have been a bit cleaner. It's a bit weird going outside to the bathroom/toilet, especially at night. There is another toilet upstairs, inside, but still awkward when you're half asleep. Location is convenient with two buses (311 and 389) across the street/corner going pretty much everywhere I wanted to go. Good stay!
Luke 'was very helpful and friendly! The house is located in a central area and you can get anywhere using trains or buses! The wax and 'very spacious and equipped with iron, the sofa. Having to report something, I think cleaning shift between roommates, common areas, can be better maintained!
I stayed here over the course of 3 months while I was working in the city, so I have a special understanding of this place. It was very much my home.
If you'd like to get a complete taste of Sydney, the location is nearly flawless. It's nestled in Darlinghurst, a neighborhood known for great cafes, architecture, and a sense of community. It's within walking distance of the city center and the harbour (I walked to work every morning), and a bus ride away from Bondi (it picks you up literally across the street). Besides my weekly visit to Bondi, I walked everywhere I needed to go. You're very much in the city, but just far away enough from its heart to make you feel like a local.
The room itself is actually two rooms that has had the wall dividing them knocked out, so space is a non-issue. You can spread out and really make it feel like home.
There are three other people who live upstairs, all young and enthusiastic and treat you with nothing but respect. (Stay there long enough and they'll become great friends.)
Luke actually became a close friend of mine, which is testament to just how hospitable he is. He has majorly invested himself in the house and specifically this room, so there's no doubt that he'll make sure you've got everything you need.
Although I'm certain this room would be a fantastic place to stay for just a night or two (there are plenty of clubs and bars around the corner), if you're in Sydney for longer than, say, a week, you really can't beat it. Trust me.
The location is very central and easy to get to. I had the (large!) front room in this terrace share house. Everything was supplied and it was reasonably clean.
I underestimated the Sydney winter a bit and the heater is not really compatible with the room size. A friend of mine borrowed me one before I even could ask Luke. I suppose since it is getting warmer now, this is not really an issue. :-)
Luke was always quick in replying and I had an enjoyable stay in Sydney. Thanks a lot.
Luke´s room is spacious and very well located in the heart of one of the most vibrant districts of Sydney. It is within walking distance from almost everywhere!
The reservation was canceled 136 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had a great stay at Luke's place - I wish I had been staying longer! It's a room I could comfortably stay in for a week or longer, with the extra space of the private living room and the courtyard, you could really settle in. The location is excellent, Darlinghurst is a fantastic area and the house is close to public transport. I'll be back here next time I'm in Sydney :)
Had a really great stay at Luke's place in Darlinghurst. You get two lovely rooms at the front of a terrace, separated by a concertina door. One is a sitting reading room, the other is a spacious bedroom.
Luke is friendly, hospitable and solicitous as a host. There is a pleasant courtyard at the side of the house which leads to a kitchen, a second bathroom (also a bathroom upstairs) and a laundry/washing line.
The area the terrace is in is one of the best parts of Sydney with great cafés and bars. Also close to Oxford St and Kings Cross.
Luke's place was perfect for my stay in Sydney! It is a comfortable room with it's own living room area and the house is in a fantastic location in Darlinghurst - close to everything!
Luke was very friendly and helpful at all times...
Thanks Luke - hope to see you in Bali! :-)
Luke is a very nice person. I really enjoyed the experience in Sydney and especially travelling around Australia.
The apartment is in the city center, 2 minutes from the bus to Bondi Beach, 10 minutes walinking from downtown. restaurants, clubs, bar, market, everything you need is very close. I spent 2 weeks but next time I really hope to stay 1 month.
