4 Thumbs Up!!!!
The best location, te best apartment, the best view, the best hosts, the best fish.... the best vacation ever!!!! Highly recomended!!!! Thanks Megan!!!!
Megan and Michael--as well as Dana, Megan's sister who was the point-person during our stay--were excellent hosts and their apartment provided the perfect home-base to explore NYC. It was a moment of destiny that we were able to stay here--our dates didn't quite line up with Megan's but it somehow worked out!--and it made for an amazing experience.
The apartment is even more bright, homey and eclectic than the pictures suggest. Really, you cannot sleep in here past 9:30 am even on an overcast day because there is so much light, but that's always a good thing when there is so much to see and do! Staying at their place makes you feel like you're a cool, well-put-together New Yorker. I know their apartment is much more put together than mine! And I'm generally jealous of their furniture collection and great taste!
Their location could not be better. It was incredibly easy to get to Manhattan and other parts of the city from their place; the subway is just a short walk away. Additionally, their neighborhood of Williamsburg contains all the cafes, restaurants, shops and boutiques you could want. In particular, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the Hotel Delmano just down the street for drinks, Cafe Colette (also down the street) for a relaxed breakfast, Bakeri just outside the apartment unit's back door for baked goodies and the most amazing yogurt and granola I've ever had, Blue Bottle for its truly excellent New Orleans-style iced coffee, Egg for a great southern style brunch, as well as very excellent American dining at Diner and Rye, which are a reasonable walk away. They are also ridiculously close to the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg markets, which I highly recommend for the perfect weekend. Basically, I cannot say enough good things. Oh yeah, you also get a temporary pet: Brian the goldfish! He's great!
Great view, close to the subway and home to the world's most dynamic goldfish, Brian! Oh yeah, and a tempurpedic mattress and they left us Stumptown coffee.
Megan and Michael are the best guests. They are friendly, interested in exploring a new city, appreciative of our accommodations and really nice. We feel like we made new friends and can't wait to welcome them back.
Megan is an extremely honest and reliable person and I would happily stay in her home! In fact, I am jealous of anyone that does! I am sure that it would be a very positive experience.
