I stayed at Charles guest house recently for 2 nights. It is located in Karen, an affluent suburb of Nairobi. Location-wise, it couldnt be better since it is close to all the main tourist attractions e.g., Sheldrick elephant orphanage, Giraffe Center, Kazuri beads factory, Bomas of Kenya.
The Inn is in very secured grounds. There is also a pool and exercise room available, though I didnt use either. Room is spacious and hot water supply for shower is plenty, though because I was assigned a top floor/attic room, I did bang my elbows/head a couple of times against the ceiling at certain corners. Otherwise, it is a very peaceful place to have a good sleep.
I requested for a driver to bring me around town, and was offered a very reasonable rate by Charles (Owner) for this service, and a good/reliable driver. The inn is managed by a nice friendly lady named Joyce, who is helpful and available to answer any questions you may have.
Charles and Judy were a wonderful host. I stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every day of it. The breakfast were rich and very Kenyan style (you gonna like it) and the dinner was equaly delicious. After the dinner, we watched together the news on TV (only if you wanted that). That was a great opportunity to learn more from real Kenyans about Kenya.
The room was big (I had room "Arctic 1") with hot shower and a nice little balcony.
The Sabina Cottage Inn also had a nice pool and a huge gym. The place is absolutely safe and is nicely located in the beautiful and tranquil Karen area.
I highly recommend this place.
