Vicki made us feel welcome in her comfortable home located near the Birchwood Restaurant and the Seward Co-op, both highlights of the Seward neighborhood. Access to the purple bathroom (down a flight of stairs) was convenient. I didn't see the $10 extra charge for a second guest, but that was my oversight.
Many thanks for your hospitality. Despite my late request just hours before arriving Vicki responded very quickly and made it possible for me to stay at her modern house for one night. I really appreciate her friendly welcome and her tips about Birchwood Cafe one of the highpoints of my visit.
Vicki welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. We got to have a few good chats in passing. Our room upstairs was simple and perfect for our stay, with a full bathroom just for us in the basement. A bonus was being greeted by her cats and dog. Although we didn't cook, the great kitchen was available. Great location for us. We hope to return!
I stayed at Vicki's place for a little more than a month as I moved from Europe to take a job at the University of Minnesota. Her place became quickly a home away from home as I settled in Minneapolis. Vicki is a terrific host and friend, quick to answer any questions, extremely friendly and helpful. She know a lot about the city, helped me to discover and even move into my new apartment. I will certainly miss our evening discussions and playing with the pets.
The house is in a great location, a short walk to the University making it a great choice for visitors. It is really nice and clean with a great kitchen, a cozy couch, and the guest room is very comfortable. A great food co-op is just a few blocks away and there is a nice restaurant / coffee place, the Birchwood Cafe, just around the corner. There is also a bus to Downtown Minneapolis half a block away.
In short, Vicki's place was everything I could hope for and my best Airbnb experience yet. I highly recommend it!
I highly recommend this wonderful Urban Retreat. Vicki couldn't have been nicer and the bed was wonderfully comfortable.
It was a nice and calm stay at Vicki's place. I could walk to the university and there is a nice restaurant around a corner as well as a bike-rental.
Vicki was the perfect hostess. She met us upon our arrival, showed us our room, explained how things worked and then gave us room to go about our visit. She was responsive when we had a question and very flexible with our schedule. Our room was simple and straightforward and right on the mark for our needs. We really liked the neighborhood - great places to eat nearby with easy access to downtown Mnpls or St. Paul. We love urban residential neighborhoods and Vicki is living in a great one! Thanks much! We hope to be back soon!
Vicki was a great host. I am a big-time walker and this location was centrally located enough that I was able to walk to everything I needed to get to. Her home was just great and she was very accommodating from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. She immediately showed me around and welcomed me to her home, explaining the habits and personalities of the animal residents (2 sweet cats and a dog). Then, when it was time for my airport shuttle to come for me as I started my trip home, she woke up early to make me coffee. She was really just a great person who was available for advice (which, as someone new to Minneapolis, I appreciated) and any help I needed. I'd definitely recommend her home if you are looking to visit Minneapolis.
I stayed at Vicki’s place for one month and a week. Although I was almost totally new to the city starting a new job at the University of Minnesota, the time literally ran out as I truly had the feeling of being home. Vicki is a wonderful host: very helpful, truly generous and genuinely friendly. She’s also a very bright and interesting person and I loved the many conversations we had. Overall, I really had a wonderful stay.
The house and accommodations are very nice. The apartment has very good furniture and is very clean. It also has an open-air porch and a back yard: very enjoyable spaces as well! The overall environment is very warm and homey.
The room is cozy and fully and equipped. The bed is very comfy.
The neighborhood is just lovely: green, safe, quiet but at the same time really close to everything, either by bus or just walking.
Less than a block away, there’s the Birchwood cafe, a very nice spot to have brunch or even just coffee and a brownie. Plus, on Franklin Ave, just few blocks away, you will find restaurants, a Co op grocery store and also a barbershop. I have been very fortunate to know Vicki and her daughter and stay at their place. Thus, I do highly recommend this accommodation: 5 stars!
I stayed with Vicki only for one night, but had a great experience! Vicki is a wonderful person, fun and intelligent; and a great host! She offered to pick me up at the bus station when I arrived and the following day dropped me off at the light rail station which I appreciated a lot. The house itself is in a really pretty and quiet neighborhood. There's a small cafe right around the corner where you can have a yummy breakfast (Birchwood cafe), and a really good yoga studio if you're into yoga (Big River Yoga). There's also a nice big co-op (Seward co-op) within walking distance. There are biking and walking paths very close too. Again, great location!! I liked the house and my room in, too. Highly recommended.
