The apartment was as described. I loved the (email hidden)y a few minutes walk to the Super Mercado, Pequeno Mundo, a number of amazing restaurants and the train station. Plenty of parks and museums in the downtown area were only a 15 minute walk! The host was easily accessible and willing to help and Michael lives on site to help as well. The train does pass next to the apartment early in the morning so if you want to sleep late bring ear plugs; after staying for a few days I was used to the train so not an issue for me. Thank you!
Very good place and good price in san José ! Thank you
Maria's place was perfect our 2-night stay in San Jose. The studio was clean and had a great minimalist design. The location was amazing! We were within walking distance of the city center and the mall.
A huge plus was the parking garage. We rented a car and was able to park it safely. Also, located in the parking garage was a washer and dryer, which we used to refresh our gear before heading out.
And, I cannot forget Michael & Zulma. They help manage the unit for Maria and they were absolutely amazing! Any questions we had were answered. Thanks to them, we really enjoyed our stay in San Jose. I would definitely recommend & return.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this apartment for 3 months while we were studying abroad at Veritas University. It was in a great location, a short walk to downtown and close to our university. The laundry was free (other than soap) and it was safe. The wifi didn't work at times so I would suggest bringing an ethernet cord. Also, the train is loud but we got used to it fast - but be ready, it runs from 4:30am to around 8pm. Overall this was a great apartment for us.
We stayed at Maria's place for one night only during December 2014.
We arrived late at her place and Michael was there to help us. First opinion is that both Michael and Zulus were helpful in patiently answering our questions and helping reserve a taxi to the airport. Thx Zulus and Michael!
The place itself was easy to find when we put akiro furniture in the GPS. It's right in front of that store. The place itself is very basic with minimal furniture and utensils. There was a TV and wifi in the unit to rescue.
Even with no train the place was noisy through out night because of big trucks crossing the road. But I guess if you have ear plugs u shud be fine.
Overall this place is clean and ok in my opinion and needs some tlc in my opinion.
Même commentaire que le précédent
Troubled finding the place were just erased by Maria's commitment helping us. She always stayed in contact and cared about our needs.
The place itself was clean and situated near the center with secure parking possibility. And with the security guy Miguel we felt totally save.
Absolutely recommendable accommodation :)
Très jolie appartement
L'équipement resté léger mais suffisant
L'immeuble est sécurisé on ne se sent absolument pas en danger
Il est vrai que le train passe très tôt le matin et fait beaucoup de bruit
Très bonne expérience
I didn't see or talk to Maria during my time there, and I only spoke to her co-host (forget her name) over the phone. One of the workers named Michael was there to meet us. He seemed nice and accommodating, but did not speak any English. The building is located in a relatively safe neighborhood. The complex itself is very safe too. It has main door which requires a key to get in, as well as a double lock for your personal apartment. The apartment is pretty spacious and clean. Towels, a roll of toilet paper, and some hand soap were provided, but that's about it. It did have dishes and cups, but we really didn't use them. The train is pretty loud (which only runs during the week), but earplugs seemed to do the trick. A couple of complaints, but nothing too major: 1) there was a single bed and a futon in the apartment, but the listing said two beds. It turned out that the futon folded out into a bed, and that's what counted as the second bed. That's a little misleading... would've preferred they advertized one bed and one fold-out futon. 2) Wifi didn't work, though I was expecting this might happen based on previous reviews. There was ethernet connection provided in the apartment, but worked very well on my laptop. Overall, good experience at this apartment, especially for the price we paid. If I visit San Jose again, I would go back to stay at the place :-)
