Howdy from Savannah! I've always been a Georgia girl. My husband, Tom, hails from Tulsa, OK. We enjoy hitting the road when we can!
These are some of my favorite ways to pass the time: on a sunny porch; drinking a cup of coffee; hitting tennis balls; snapping a picture; picking up goodies at the Farmer's Market; riding a bicycle; playing a game of canasta or Catan; hanging with my husband and friends; baking cupcakes (and eating those cupcakes!); trying new recipes; catching rays and waves on the beach; eating Thai!! ...
Tom enjoys creating tasty beer as a homebrewer; bicycling; typography; finding a good podcast (his latest is the Council on Foreign Relations); and is currently exploring the world of fermenting. And he loves hot sauce, hot tea, and funky soul music.
I spend 40 hours/week serving the elderly and disabled within the apartment community where they live. I am also engaged in a couple of community non-profits in an effort to promote local food and living healthy.
Tom stays busy as a freelance graphic/web designer. He also serves on the board for the Savannah Jazz Association.
One of my favorite poems is by the Sufi poet, Hafiz:
Invited you to a party
In the ballroom tonight
Will be my special
How would you then treat them
And I know
There is no one in this world
Is not upon
His Jeweled Dance
