I'm a grad student here in Montreal. I travel a fair bit, and like to stay at unusual and inspiring places.

A very nice, clean and amazing home. Plenty of space, Frederik made us feel very welcomed in his apartment. The absolutely best location in the Plateau, we were close to EVERYTHING. No lie about the bed, we crashed as soon as we hit it every night. Super comfortable and warm.
Plenty of light, great kitchen, plenty of hot water, speedy wifi, and incredibly safe.
It rained most of the time we were there, so we were glad we stayed here. Didn't feel like we missed a thing. waking up late, rolling to a patisserie on Mont Royal and then coming back was a perfect way to laze about.
When we come again, Frederik's place will be on our short list.
I loved staying at Frederik's place. He was very responsive and helpful from the get-go, and flexible when I wanted to add an additional night. The place itself is great: he has an AMAZING collection of graphic novels (a lot of overlap with mine!) and if I had known, I would have liked to have stayed an extra day so I could just lie in bed and read. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and everything worked, and his "how to work the apartment" instructions were clear and laid out on the table for us upon arrival. The apartment itself is a little quirky, as it lists to the left a lot. I think the building is just really crooked. Either way, I loved it, and would love to stay there again sometime.
Frederik has a very cozy and artsy apartment. The location was great and nearby park looked very pretty in the morning. We had a great stay over there. We couldn't connect to his WIFI which was weird but fine since we had a reason to sleep early and enjoy the extremely comfortable bed.
My boyfriend and I had a great time at Frederik's place. The location is perfect, It's a very cosy apartment, we couldn't have found something better to enjoy our stay in Montreal!
We stayed in this apt a few days ago. It had truly a great location near major metro stops and streets. The apt was mostly clean when we arrived. Bed was very comfortable, although sheets and bedding left something to be desired (holes in sheets, etc.) Host was helpful in leaving keys and instructions as well as helpful suggestions regarding the area Overall, a good experience and we're glad we chose this place, although, if using airbnb to stay in Montreal in the future, we will probably give another place a try.
Clean and comfortable. Couldn't ask for a better location! Frederik was very organized and everything was made simple and hassle free. The snowshoes kept by the door, on the other hand, seemed like a bit of a props-overkill ... really, for tourists, canadian winters in Montreal are not that bad !! Thanks for the great accommodations Frederik !
Frederik was an amazingly accommodating host; we had a last minute special arrangement and he was nothing but obliging. Awesome apartment that was comfortable and in a perfect location, not to mention stocked with more (sweet) graphic novels than you can shake a stick at.
On top of all of that, we were left a list of things to do that led us to some great poutine and beers. I would very happily stay at his place again, and recommend any and all others to do the same!
A lovely apartment in a great location. Clean and decorated in a very funky way. The balcony was a real plus and a great place to have breakfast or just relax after a day of exploring Montreal. There's a bike rental stand just one block away, and a tonne of great restaurants, shops and bars. Frederik's detailed notes on the local area were far better than any of the guidebooks. Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks Frederik!
This place really is charming - and even more so in person. The apartment itself is a bright, colourful, funky space with lots of room to hang out and relax. We spent a couple of evenings sipping wine on the leafy balcony overlooking the main street and on the more spacious back porch. The kitchen is fully equipped if you feel like cooking your own meals, and there's an amazing book collection if you want something interesting to read as you fall asleep at night.
One of the best features of the apartment is its location - a stone's throw from the metro, opposite a beautiful park (which includes two pools), and nestled in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood. There are great places to eat and drink nearby, just minutes away. Be sure to check out all the host's suggestions!
The only drawback about the place is its "trick" key: on our first night, it took us 20 minutes to figure out how to open the front door, and 20 more to lock it on our way out. By the end of our stay, we had acquired the magic touch, but a better functioning key would have made our stay next-to-flawless.
We'd definitely recommend this place to anyone hoping to get a real taste of the city. We'll book again on our next visit to Montreal.
We stayed in Montreal for 7 days. We love the beauty of the city. Our stay at Frederik was not the best because of unforeseen events. Frederik was out of town and the previous renter did not "keep the place as clean as possible", as mentioned in the Airbnb page, so we ended up vacuuming and mopping the floor for the the first half an hour. It was summer time and new neighbours moved in, so we have to accommodate with the music and party when the walls were paper-thin. Also, we did not expect the structure to be tilted (slanted floors), which we were a bit worry about. However, the location of Frederik's home was great, and the space in his apartment was good for a company of 2-3 people.
Frederik is a courteous and flexible guest, interested in learning about the new city or neighborhood. He also has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him as a guest!
Frederik was a very pleasant guest. Communication went smoothly before, during and after his stay at our place, he left the apartment in mint condition and everything really went just as we could've wished for. We would definitely recommend others to host him.
Frederik was a great guest. I didn't actually meet him since my rental room has its own entrance but he was quiet, clean, and easy to communicate with before his arrival. I'd be happy to host him again any time.
Frederik booked for his mother Dorde, and her friend is Solveig. They were tidy and respectful guests. They even left some treats behind for my son and I was touched by the gesture. I would certainly host Frederik and his family again.
Responsible, a good communicator, generally a pleasure to deal with as a guest.
From beginning to end, all communication with Frederik was speedy, seamless, straight-forward, and respectful. He and his girlfriend were fantastic guests and I wouldn't hesitate to rent to them again.
The reservation was actually for Frederiks mother and her friend from Denmark. They were nice ladies. They did however rearrange all the furniture and pulled the curtains down etc which seemed a little odd. Other than that they were pleasant and seemed to have a good stay.
Frederik is easy-going, reliable and organized, i.e. the perfect host! This is leaving aside the fact that he's also super nice – let's not forget that!
I've known Frederik for about 5 years, and he is just a lovely human being. Kind, trustworthy, honest, and has the best music and graphic novel collection I've ever seen. Seriously folks, he's terrific.
