I work as freelance photographer, Videographer and Marine Biologist. The following websites describes me quite well I guess:
We are the family of 4 people. We spent more than a week at this flat and had no bad impressions.
Very nice and clean flat in a good condition. The living room windows are on the on the morning sun side, so it helps to wake up in natural way. Also you can enjoy vieweing Bosphor from one of the room's window. House displacement is suitable for all who likes jogging - not far away from embankment route. Coming first day (very night) we found all we need for a good morning (some water, tea, coffee etc.) before our first visit a market. Many thanks to the owner, it was very friendly.
There is no home telephone at the flat, but this became less importaint from year to year. But for us it wasn't a case because of internet wi-fi available.
We were enjoyed to spent some time there! Thanks, Mert.
Staying at Mert's place was the highlight of my trip in Istanbul. He made my hectic schedule changes so easy to work around and was very understanding and flexible. I plan on coming back to Kadiköy in January, and I hope the apartment will be available again!! If you are a fan of great art and a nice quiet place to come home to after a day out on the jam packed streets of Istanbul, then this is the place for you. The neighborhood is great and had plenty of shops and bars nearby with a decent night life. With the Ferry station a mere ten minute walk away it made going to the European side very easy. But to be honest, staying on the Asian side was possibly the best decision I could have made! Great view, great location, and great host! Thanks Mert for everything!!!
Mert's apt is really nice and lies in what we thought was the best neighbourhood in Istanbul: Kadikoy. Although Kadikoy is on the Asian side of the city, it's close to the harbour and a really nice ferry ride away form the European side that has most of the historical sites. Kadikoy has a great student, almost Berlin-like, vibe. Mert's house has everything you could need during your stay, and he's a flexible and welcoming host.
Mert flat was excellent choice, immediately we felt like at home, our little one was enjoining big sofa and view from the green chair.
It is in residential area with few steps to open market street to pick up breakfast, dinner or supper. We cook in flat as it has all equipment. It is so near the see for walks and in our case for strolling , and has the most beautiful sun set as I have seen in Istanbul.
Big thanks to Mert who let us stay in his flat.
The apartment is very nice with all the pictures of Mert. It’s spacious with nice terrace and very well located - we loved staying in a quiet street in Moda near shops, restaurants, nightlife and the sea for the sunset! The tram stop for Kadikoy and the ferry port is right outside the house. Mert was a wonderful host, he picked us up late in Kadikoy and was very helpful in showing best places around the apartment. We would definitively stay there again! Thanks Mert!
Totally recommend this accommodation. Contact with Mert was uncomplicated and although he was working outside Istanbul everything went great with the keys. The flat is great: nice view, nice terrace, nice neighbourhood, nice rooms... great to explore Moda! Flat offered everything we needed. A bit warm in the evenings but that's what we expected in July/August.
Thanks again to Mert! It was pleasure!
We had a great few days here at Mert's place. What a great location and decorated with some of Mart's beautiful photos. This apartment had everything we needed and we cannot recommend it enough if you are looking for an Istanbul holiday based in the quiet and calm Anadolu (Asian) side of the Bosphorus in easy reach of the Touristic side via a most beautiful 25 min ferry ride. What more could you want?
It was just what I was expecting and more very neat everthing worked dishwasher shower was great close to all conveniences an transport.
Mert's apartment was spacious, well equipped, light and airy, but above all - in a wonderful location.
He was quick, detailed and accurate in advising us about what to do and where to go in the area.
We stayed 2 months longer than we intended and recommended it highly.
