Currently working in China running Warner International Golf Club. We have 25 rooms here with another 12 apartments in Beijing.
The apartment is at the 7th floor of the Sun Thirsty building. It's a convenient location, just a few minutes away from the Guomao subway station (line 1 to the city center) and in a quiet neighborhood.
The flat was clean & tidy: it really is similar to the pictures.
Helen & Jane were very helpful and always available to answer questions, by email or in person. They even booked a driver for us to visit the Great Wall, which was much appreciated as we did not speak Chinese!
The only drawback I can see is that the flat is not in the city center: this was not a problem at all for us, but has to be kept in mind when booking this apartment.
Thanks a lot!
I had a pleasant stay in Beijing here. This is operated by a property management company and located in a high rise. The team there was extremely helpful and very friendly. The unit I had was clean and very spacious, especially for Beijing.
The Sun Thirsty apartment worked for me as it was contemporary, clean, in a central location and good value for money.
The apartment is pretty much the same as in the photos, however it was more tired than I expected and the bathroom not as modern. The lighting is also poor, particularly in the living room, however this was rectified by Helen donating a desk lamp. The wifi is good, although cuts out every now and then.
The location is excellent for finding taxis easily - not an easy feat in Beijing - and for cafes and places to eat. There is also a brilliant gym nearby (Will's) which will allow you to join on a pay-as-you-go basis. The main road near the apartment is not the greatest street to stroll down as it's inundated with out-of-towners either being dropped off, or waiting for buses to take them back home.
Helen is a responsive and full time manager of this entire floor of apartments in older building. The apartments are pretty basic and the furnishings are a bit tired. The complex gives you the feel of a smallish hotel rather than someone's home. Bed was pretty hard and the bathrooms needed some maintenance and upgrading. But the price was economical and maybe the right choice for the budget traveler. .
Fantastic appartement perfect location in the center of Beijing. The host was very helpful, Wifi speed is good too. just not enough hot water for shower. overall was really good.
I chose this apartment as it's walking distance to my Beijing office. Having stayed for close to 3 months, I must admit that it's location is very convenient. Helen is excellent at helping in any way possible.
The (email hidden) was very nice. The flat is very central, the people were very friendly and helpful too. Thank you very much Helen!
Great situation. Close to subway. Access to anywhere.
Both Richard andHelen were very helpful.
When giving instructions to get there, I would suggest given subway instructions as well. The airport express is easy and the connecting line to the appropriate station is a few stops (my bag is still in Hong Kong ;-(. So my map is not with me). Communication with cab drivers ca be challenging.
Another nice touch would be having some tourist maps available at the apartment as one cannot get them at the airport easily.
Helen was very helpful with organizing things. It would help her to have some suggestion so guides to some of the sights (Great Wall, Forbidden palace and the secondh and market.
Parisienne Patisserie is great for early morning coffee and sandwich.
In all, could not have asked for more.
Suggest a compass as when you pop up from underground, it is once to know how to orientate yourself. (I had one - they all laughed and then thanked me!)
Very nice apartment, clean, well equipped. Everything worked perfectly. Large living room, comfortable bed, perfect location, the subway is just a few minutes away and there are a number of restaurants and coffee places around (I particularly recommend Annie's pizzeria (email hidden) called Paris, thank you Richard for the suggestions).
Helen is the nicest person, she was so helpful in every possible way. She even wrote some directions in Chinese for me so that I could ask around.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, I'll definitely come again next time I'm in Beijing.
Easy to walk to the subway station. Sichuan, Italian restaurants nearby and a couple of coffee places. If you are walking back at night, it requires a bit of a walk down a darkish alley.
Walmart and a big shopping mall are also within walking distance.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
The hotel manager, Helen, was very helpful, but it might be a bit difficult to communicate with her in English.
