Sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Würden sofort wieder buchen.
Great "jungle" feeling, unique location so close to the tide pools. Jeannie helped us with information about places to visit - I agree with all the other comments. I can totally recommend Jeannieˋs Jungle Paradise.
What a charming place and an experience! Thank you, Jeannie.
Not knowing exactly what I'm getting into - (didn't have much time to prepare for my trip) Jeannie was the most accommodating. She stayed up until after 9PM to say Aloha with a warm hug upon check-in. Location was excellent. Since Jeannie is willing to share her kitchen, I would suggest you bring your own groceries. Another option is to drive to the closest town where they have amazing food. Room was neat and clean, you are within walking distance from a great beach which offers snorkeling. Jeannie provides complimentary lounge chairs, snorkeling gear and surfs and you won't need to drive anywhere, since you are within a short walking distance to the most breathtaking snorkeling place I've seen. I highly recommend this place to others with a small warning - don't forget you are in the jungle, so expect small animals, cats and small chicken greeting you along the way to Jeannie's place .. and .. bring a lot of SPF :)
Great place to stay in Pahoa - walking distance to a lagoon and tide pools for awesome snorkeling. Jeannie is very nice and offers lots of sightseeing tips!
This location was quiet and beautiful. Jeannie was great at communication before our arrival on directions and recommendations . She was so warm and when we were there she made us feel welcome in her home. Her home was a great size, 7 bedrooms, and we ended up having the whole bottom part to ourselves which was really nice because we did most of our cooking there and were able to use the 2nd kitchen freely. We did not receive cell service at the location, it would be about a ten minute drive to reach cell service so this is nice for those looking to disconnect. Wi-fi signal was very weak downstairs as well so keep that in mind for your vacation plans. Our shower was outside, very Bali like, as advertised. I can see how some people may not like showering outdoors, but it was one of my favorite parts. Like I said, we weren't at the airbnb much because there was so much we wanted to do, but it was a great place to go home to after a long day to cook food, relax and sleep. We had to drive quite a bit to get to most places, but the drive was always enjoyable. It's about a 5 minute walk to the tide pools (lagoons) and about a 5 minute drive to a beautiful tide pool park with excellent views of the ocean and perfect trees for hammocks. There is an awesome Sunday's farmers market about 10 minutes from Jeannie's and Volcano National Park and Volacno winery are only about 45 minutes away. Hilo is also about a 45 min drive. There are a bunch of little towns about 20 minutes like Pahoa that have eateries and such. Jeannie recommended a little Mexican place our first night called Luquins that had organic margaritas! They were to die for! Overall, it was a great stay, especially for the rate! We'd definitely stay again! Thanks for the strawberry papaya, Jeannie!
We've been home less than a week but we are already homesick for Jeannie's beautiful home. A taxi driver told us not to go to the Eastern side of the island, but we're so glad we didn't listen because we were able to meet Jeannie and stay in this beautiful room. The grounds are gorgeous and steps to the tide pools, and only a short drive to the sweet town of Pahoa, Kehana black sand beach, and more. Wireless was great and we had complimentary breakfast and tea. What's best about this place is the host and the subtle ways she makes you feel right at home. Very comfortable and relaxing. We had a great time and hope to return!
We had a great time staying at Jeannie's place. I still can't believe that some of the best snorkeling in the world is only a few minutes away from her place. Especially with the great price she charges.
Jeannie was a great host, providing some fresh fruit on some morning, great conversations many times, and a comfortable shared home. The locations by the tidepools is excellent if you're interested in snorkeling there or enjoying the scenery. A nice quiet neighborhood. I took trips to VNP and the lighthouse; the nearby market is good, too.
Great place and location, near to the mermaid lagoon! Super laid back atmosphere. Jeannie is a nice woman, offering interesting conversation and great local tips.
Jeannie is the best. She immediately welcome us with the brightness of her smile and since then we become a one-thing with her and her place. it was very inspiring and incredibly funny to spent time with Jeannie. the atmosphere at her place is very colorful and exciting also thanks to her fantastic smoothies and cakes. the room is spacious and very comfortable and the all place is extremely clean. the tropical nature surrounding it is just astonishing and the ocean (with its tide polls) just couple of hundreds meters away is beautiful. the position where the place is located is perfect to visit the east coast of Big Islands. we will definitely will come back with our future kids.
Thanks Jeannie, our friend and guide
