I was born in San Francisco and raised in northern California. I have lived in France, Belgium, California, Oregon and now Reno. My husband and I have four children. My family is very important to me and I have chosen to forgo a legal career to be home with my kids. I have an undergraduate degree in French and a law degree from the University of California at Davis. I enjoy reading, traveling, singing, walking, swimming, skiing, hiking, going to the movies, and doing the NYT crossword puzzle. My favorite travel destinations are France and Switzerland, but I haven't visited that many places in this world because having four kids severely limits our travel budget. I'm allergic to just about everything, but we have an australian shepherd-poodle mix who loves our family without making us sneeze. We live in a 100 year old home near the Truckee river in downtown Reno. The worst thing about Reno is the lack of architecturally appealing buildings. The best things about Reno are the people and the climate which has four beautiful seasons. As a traveler or a host I love meeting new people. My only big requirement is that I get eight hours of good sleep. I wish I was the kind of person who could get by on four hours of sleep and sleep through anything, but I'm not. I wanted to be a pediatrician and realized that was an impossible goal because I need so much sleep. Fortunately, all my children were late risers like me so I never had to deal with kids who got up with the sunrise. I like simple things like comfortable clothes, home-cooked meals and craftsman furniture. I prefer to stay with friendly people and to carry my own suitcases.
