My boyfriend and I had a great weekend stay in this cute little apartment. Maiana was very nice and made it easy to check in and check out. The apartment was very clean and well decorated. It felt very private and there was a lovely little patio just outside the front door. I was super pleased to find a huge full length mirror for dressing. We also appreciated the refreshments provided upon our arrival. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
a well-appointed cozy space with a VERY sweet hostess. comfortable for 2, absolutely perfect for 1 (especially for someone needing an extended stay). has a surprisingly accommodating kitchen and the bath is not small (like one might find in a studio). ample closet and shelf space for those who like to unpack the suitcase...like moi...awesome exterior as a bonus.
I had such an amazing time at Maiana's studio. It's peaceful, quiet, has the best outdoor space complete with chickens and fresh eggs in the back! It's walkable to awesome Echo Park things, including the lake and so much more. I could have stayed forever. Maiana and her family are the sweetest and were so helpful. I just moved to LA and it was a wonderful place to start my life here and transition into the city.
I cannot find the words to describe how incredible my time was staying here! Maiana and her family are so lovely, and the space is amazing! If I could move in, I would! The neighborhood is gorgeous, and I enjoyed that I could walk everywhere. Coffee shops, hiking spots, groceries, etc. were walkable as well! I immediately felt at home here, and I highly recommend staying with them. I can't stress that enough!
Staying at Maiana's was such a lovely experience. It was beautiful, clean and perfectly located!
Even nicer than the pictures, really pleasant stay, great host, highly recommended.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was AMAZING! Maiana is one of the nicest people I've ever met! Being from San Francisco, I've become so accustom to open spaces and lots of greenery. Maiana studio was literally an urban oasis smack in the middle of LA/Echo Park. From the moment my girlfriend and I got there, we were surrounded by gardens, ponds, and lush plants.
When we entered the studio we were greeted by fruit, tea, chocolate, and fresh coffee. Like I said before… AMAZING! If you get the chance to go to LA anytime soon, be sure to check out Maiana's place. You'll either want to move in, or pack up you things and find an oasis of your own in Echo Park.
We had a great 3-week stay at this lovely studio. As mentioned in all the reviews below, it is decorated with a lot of care, which instantly makes you feel comfortable. It is very clean, everything you might need is provided and the hosts are a pleasure.
The bamboo hedges are much more dense and higher now than on the pictures, which gives the place a very cozy, oasis-like feeling (and a little less light than on the pictures).
We never had a problem finding a parking spot. We enjoyed the park a lot, which is only a 5min walk away. There are also some great food places walking distance.
Some might want to know that you can hear some sounds from the street and from the hosts living above you. But nothing earplugs wouldn't solve if you are a light sleeper.
Maiana was extremely welcoming, helped instantly with any questions we had and also gave us a lot of privacy. We loved having their dog and cat visiting and being part of this little oasis in Echo Park. Highly recommended!
Maiana's garden apartment was a lovely oasis, perfectly centrally located in L.A., an easy stroll high above Echo Park Lake. We thoroughly enjoyed the bamboo-screened privacy of the cozy patio right outside our door, and we were graciously invited to make use of the family's larger, lush front garden to entertain our L.A. relatives who live nearby. We enjoyed several sublime evenings lounging there around the cheerful fire pit beside a bubbling fountain. It was the lure of Maiana's company of laying hens, a friendly dog and cat, and the urban garden with compost bins that convinced us beforehand that it would be a congenial location. Our expectations were fulfilled in every way -- a kitchen with all of the necessities, a luxurious shower, and easy hi-speed wifi. The only challenge for those visiting with a car is finding parking nearby on the very steep street. Level parking can be found a block or so away, but we sometimes had to search the neighborhood to find a space. Not a problem for those who are also looking for some exercise opportunities! All in all, it was a great find. Highly recommended.
Awesome little spot in the heart of Echo Park. The premise is beautiful and Maiana is very attentive and helpful. I would definitely go back any day!
I enjoyed meeting Maiana, herself an Airbnb host. Maiana and her family were fabulous guests who left the apartment in better condition than they found it. We'd gladly host them again the next time they're in town.
Thanks for Coming,
you were a Great Guest, hope to see you again :)
This studio is amazing. It is beautifully designed and appointed, and would be a great place to live for a short- or long-term stay. Everything about it is wonderful, from the clean and well-laid out kitchen (big enough to cook an elaborate meal, and with the requisite cooking tools) to the very cute living space to the oh so cozy sleeping area to the amazing bathroom. It even has a workspace - a desk that pulls out of the wall. But the best part might be the outdoor space, a private patio hidden from the street. And they keep everything ship-shape, clean and tidy. This place is perfect as a home base to explore LA, and convenient to downtown and the Echo Park/Silverlake/Los Feliz area. Whatever they are saying is underselling it: they are modest people. This is the place you want to stay if you are coming to Los Angeles. Bottom line: If you stay here, you will be happy.
This lovely little nook is perfect for either a professional or personal escape to LA. Completely renovated and brand new, this studio is adorably decorated by Maiana and Nick. They have incorporated into this space their wonderful flair for detail and the same love and coziness that pervades their home. There is plenty of room to cook and relax, and even meander through the french door into their lovely garden. The shower is incredible and the location is terrific. They even have their own personal guardian, in the form of Xango- a magical dog that will make sure that your stay is more than pleasant.
I was the former full-time tenant in this lovely studio and can vouch that Maiana and Nick are wonderful people to share a home with, and the studio is beautiful, airy, and filled with gorgeous light all day long. Living there reawakened the photographer in me, and hopefully it will recharge you in some way too.
The two have a wonderful eye for design and have transformed the space into a lovely and cozy apartment, with a wonderful open feel. It sits on a hill and is situated in the back of their home, off a peaceful garden oasis. A perfect paradise getaway when you're staying in the city bustle of Echo Park.
I would have lived there my whole life, if I could have fit my boyfriend and dog there. Hopefully my loss at having to leave will be your gain.
Maiana and Nick are wonderful hosts and good friends of mine. I have stayed at their beautiful house in Echo Park a few times and have always had a lovely stay. It has a welcoming air to it and such warmth. They are two great people who really know how to make a home feel special.
