I'm 26 years old, born and raised in San Diego, CA. I've spent the past seven years traveling and bouncing around having single serving adventures. I am intoxicated by the freedom and thrill of the open road. I've lived, worked, volunteered in, and explored 43 of the 50 states. I spent last winter living in Haiti, toured around the Middle East for the summer, and spent the fall working in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. My passion is traveling non-profit/volunteer work. I've worked with Red Cross, Americorps, Hands On/All Hands Disaster Relief, Habitat for Humanity, and some smaller grassroots environmental projects. As of now, I spend my days in the flavor lab above a local creole taqueria making gourmet popsicles (chocolate covered bacon and coconut vietnamese coffee anyone?) and I moonlight as a bike taxi ninja goddess, toting drunks all over the french quarter and surrounding areas on a rickshaw (I tell my parents I'm gathering fodder for my next great American novel). I'm a lover of film, literature, and music (you're welcome to anything in my collection). My favorite thing to do is go to the Prytania theater every Wednesday by myself with a bottle of wine and see whatever classic film they're showing. My spirit animal is Stevie Nicks. My motto is Mother Theresa's "Spread love everywhere you go, let no one leave you without being happier." And my favorite quote is Dorothy Parker's "You can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think."
I think New Orleans is the most magical place in the world. The people. The music. The food. The art. The speakeasys. Its like nowhere else I've ever been. Its the only place that's ever been able to hold me for a significant amount of time. Stay with me, and I'll be more than happy to take you off the beaten path and show you all the amazing nooks and crannies of this gorgeous city and all the reasons I fell in love with it.
My roommate Blake is the most incredible human I've ever encountered. He studied philosophy, art history, and environmental studies at NYU. He is a talented photographer, has an incomparable green thumb, and brews the meanest cup of coffee your lips have ever met. When he's not toting humans around on the bicycle taxi or traveling the world, he can be found reading, cooking, making grown men cry at the pooltable, and breaking hearts by the dozen. There is no one in the world I would rather share my home, my life, and your airbnb experience with, so when I'm traveling, he is your main point man.
