Playwright shuttling between New Orleans, New York, and all points elsewhere. Love to cook, dance, and make the occasional costume.
We enjoyed our stay in the apartment a lot! We loved using the bikes to tour around the neighbourhood and ride to the french quarter. Being able to hang out on the porch and relax was also great. The decor of the apartment was fantastic and artsy.
We would recommend everyone visiting New Orleans to stay at Gabrielle's place and experience a bit of a less 'touristy' neighbourhood!
The Bywater Shotgun was clean, spacious, and fun. Having bikes to ride made everything so easy. New Orleans is so flat and close together, we rode everywhere--within minutes. I'd stay there again.
Gabrielle's place was wonderful! I would recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Had a great time! The house was adorable, the neighbors were super helpful and the bikes were lots of fun!
My friend and I absolutely adored Gabrielle's house. It had everything that was important to us: personality, interesting/non-touristy area, very walkable, well-stocked kitchen for cooking if you're not up for going out every night, great collection of books, and a super comfortable bed. One of Gabby's friends was there to greet us when we got in, and she couldn't have been more welcoming.
I think we had as much fun hanging out on Gabby's porch as we did walking around the Quarter. So thank you!
We had a great time in NOLA and really enjoyed Gabrielle's artsy home. If you are up for getting in a good walk (which we were) you can take her street down to the levy for a scenic view of the city. It was only a 30-40 minute walk to the French Quarter from her place. We loved the art in the neighbor and the local restaurants close by as well. We had a group of 4 and every one slept comfortably...parking was super easy as well. We didn't have to drive anywhere. After a long night we caught a cab home (best to walk into the French Quarter as cabs can take up to an hour to pick up...those that answer the phone that is). We definitely recommend Gabrielle's wonderful home. She was a great host and always responded promptly if we had any questions.
Great place! Quirky and fun. Having the bikes made it easy to get to the Quarter. Loved the guide book Gabrielle made for the area around the house. Found some great eats. Nice chatting with the neighbor too. We would stay there again!
Great house. Gabrielle is a real artist. We enjoyed the furniture. It was so great to have bikes especially around Mardi-Gras. The neighborhood is nice and we are so close from Frenchmen street with all the good jazz club.
Gabrielle has a great little house in near the Bywater. My Dad and I both stayed there very comfortably -- he took the bed and I got the pull out couch. I loved all the decorations on the walls and everything was well taken care of. We had breakfast at two tasty spots nearby, Satsuma Cafe and Elizabeth's, and took walks over to the French Quarter, which is about 30 minutes away, and the museums in the business district, which was about an hour. We would have used the bikes as well, but it was pretty rainy during out visit. Thanks for the wonderful southern hospitality!
Gabrielle was a wonderful hostess. Her space was very cozy and the neighborhood was fantastic. I would recommend this space to anyone!
Gabrielle was easy to work with and communicate with. She was a fantastic guest!
