Hi, we are busy professionals.
This place is nicely located in Cambridge; nearby rail/bus connections, not far from Harvard, etc. It seemed ideal for a spot from which to visit my daughter living up by Harvard Square.
I had trouble receiving the code for entering the front door, but somehow was able to enter the first of my two nights (I think another tenant opened it). However on the second night, I was absolutely stranded on the porch. I looked up Air B&B's help number and called it, and was told "due to exceptional call volume, you'll be on hold for at least 30 minutes..." It took a total of about 45 minutes before Lailani the help voice was able to supply me with a door code. That was REALLY a bad show! I had also called all the other access numbers I found, to no avail. (But despite that, I was asked via a voicemail at 4:45AM, while I was sleeping in the room, why if I was having a problem, why hadn't I called?)
Other comments I'd make would be that I couldn't find any cups, paper or otherwise, for water (I usually need a cup for the meds I take), and maybe they were there, but I didn't see any room numbers on the doors.
This is a typical "vintage" Chambridge condo. It is dated but the place is kept habitable. The pictures are of the actual rooms but they must have been taken after a remodel as the rooms/bathrooms were not as clean. The room itself was spacious and had a large closet with hangers. The towels that were on the nights stand neatly folded were dirty and reeked. Fortunately there were clean towels on the staircase. I agree that the bath/shower could use some work as it was kind of gross.
Overall the stay wasn't that bad but for the price I'm sure you could find a much better hotel.
This is really well located. There are a number of different rooms and the one I stayed in was really small. No problems getting in.
Good place in a nice location in Cambridge. Everything worked smoothly.
Make sure you read all the reviews. While I can say the room / house / neighborhood was charming. The bathroom was absolutely gross with moldy shower curtains and grime. I left a day earlier as I couldn't stand to use that bathroom one more time.
nice location, spacy and nicely furnished room. Good communication
The room was not immaculate by system of codes works well.
We went to airbnb after we were scammed by a 3rd party hotel chain. We were very impressed by this place and the location it was in!
The room was in great shape when we got there and had no issues with the house, whatsoever. If anyone is interested in going to Cambridge and wanting some privacy, this is exactly what you want.
We were undisturbed during our whole stay and we appreciated the unhosted building. It really provided a place to just go back to and be alone.
The ONLY issue was parking. When we arrived, we were hoping there would be some on-street parking available to us to park for the whole weekend, however, because I come from a rural part of the state, I was surprised that were was none. Frustrated, we spent about 45 minutes driving around looking for parking until we found the Green Street Garage.
You're only viable parking will be the Green Street Garage. All other spots are metered or private parking only.
Good location, nice apartment, highly recommend.
Good location and very convenient for short stay in Cambridge. Rooms are not as modern as it is depicted in the pictures.
did not get to meet John as we were away due to a family emergency but all seemed well
I was happy to have you stay at my house. Glad you enjoyed it and hope you had a chance to get over to the river! You are welcome back anytime!
