Lee and Tara's place is as cozy, comfortable and well equipped as only a true home can be. The location is simply great, just a few minutes walk to the subway and to nice places in Brooklyn - and only one subway stop to Manhattan as well. An extra privilege is to be surrounded by Tara's fantastic paintings during your stay - it will certainly help to make your days in NYC unforgettable. They are very dedicated and warm hosts, and we can only recommend the experience!
“A living art museum” with beautiful paintings by Tara. This was definitely a bonus for us.
The apartment is ideally located, with easy access to two subway lines into the city and lots of restaurants and other amenities nearby. We stayed six persons (4 adults and two young people) in the apartment, and it worked well, especially it was nice to have two bathrooms.
We used the well-equipped kitchen a few times.
Lee and Tara were very helpful and pleasant to deal with, and they are great resources for useful information about NY.
A great stay – we can recommend.
Thanks Thorkild et al. We welcome you anytime and maybe see you in Copenhagen one of these days!
Really lovely , warm and colourful apartment. Has everything you might need for a short or longer stay. Close to subway , only a few stops to centre of town. Felt like a safe neighbourhood, didn't have any problems and really quiet . View of some of New Yorks most famous landmarks eg Chrysler building from living room window. Tara and Lee very helpful and really good communication . Would recommend a stay in this lovely apartment
We were a group of 6 old college friends coming into NYC for a reunion. Lee and Tara's place was perfect for us! It's a big place with two bathrooms and two showers: we were very comfortable, and it's very peaceful and spacious in their place.
Also basically right in the heart of Williamsburg and we could walk to amazing bars like the Radegast Biergarten, brunch places, and the subway with no problem at all.
For a slightly larger group, Lee & Tara's place is a perfect venue.
The apartment was ideally located for us, with easy access to two subway lines into the city, available street parking, and lots of restaurants and other amenities nearby. It was clean and well-kept. We didn't eat in, but could have easily done so, since it seemed that the kitchen was decently-equipped. Having two bathrooms was handy, too! Our two-year-old had to be told several times to keep her hands to herself, especially with regard to the art hung on the walls within her reach, but otherwise we found it reasonably child-friendly. As indicated in the description, though, it *is* on the fourth floor of a walk-up, so carrying gear and child up and down could be a bit of a workout. We found Lee and Tara helpful and pleasant to deal with. A great stay!
Lee and Tara were and are amazing hosts for my colleague Kerry and I - they were generous and warm hosts, always inviting us for outings with them without imposing on our personal space. They even braved Hurricane Sandy with us with smiles on their faces and shared many pots of tea while listening to the radio. I wish I could stay here with them longer, they are just awesome!! THANKS, GUYS!!
Lee and Tara were wonderful during our stay to three days in their apartment.
The apartment is perfect: clean, large, fully equipped kitchen, top floor with a view of a piece of Skyline Manathan and even a roof access!
Bonus : beaitiful painting by Tara!
The flat is near for metro lines Manathan (1 stop!) And Queens.
For sure, i will be back there.
I want to live in New York! i want to live with Lee and Tara! :)
thanks very much to Lee and Tara!

A truly great experience with warm and generous hosts. We really appreciated the tips and hints and loved being so close to a subway station. After a long day of running around the city it was always great returning to a sanctuary with such chilled out people.
Lee and Tara are just gorgeous! I mean, the place is in the perfect spot, the beds are comfortable, the roof is exceptional place to drink wine, the art is captivating, but the very best part is the company - particularly how delightful, attentive and good at looking after you, without imposing, Lee and Tara are.
My mate Sally and I felt welcome, and so thankful for this slice of Williamsburg sanctuary. It's my new New York home-away-from-home!
Tara and Lee are very responsive hosts. They answered our questions and delivered the keys as promised. When there was a problem with the hot water in the building they were available by telephone and got it fixed quickly. The apartment is large and easily accommodates 6 people The living/dining area is especially nice for conversation and relaxing. The apartment is filled with owners art, and feels a bit cluttered, so gusts will have to be inventive in finding places to put their luggage and hang their clothes. The lack of air conditioning was not a problem because the weather cooperated, but in hot weather the fans may not be enough. The 4 story walk-up is not recommended for people with any mobility problems.
A short stay, but a true pleasure hosting Lee and Tara!
Lee and Tara were great guests. Kind, courteous and clean.
I hope to host them again soon, they are welcome back anytime.
It was my pleasure hosting Lee and Tara, great, smart, friendly and well educated couple, well communicated, independent, I highly recommend them, they are welcome any time.
Lee was an exceptional guest! He booked on short-ish notice but it was no hassle at all - he's super communicative and easy to plan with, and once he arrived he was a pleasure to get to know and host! He was friendly, tidy, considerate, and easy to host throughout his stay and we would excitedly host him again any time!
Tara and Lee are so bright, artful, and kind! We loved having them at our guest house for a week. They took excellent care of the house, were a pleasure to chat with whenever we crossed paths, and were totally self-sufficient. Amazing, talented people who also happen to be tidy, cheerful, and easy going. If you are lucky enough to hear from them or even have them host you, definitely do it!
Lee and Tara and family were wonderful guests. Very friendly and easy to communicate. Everything was in order with the unit. Highly recommend Lee and Tara as a guest for future stay.
Tara was a really good guests who gave some good feedback and was really sweet! I loved having her as a guest and would love to have her again!
Lee and Tara stayed with us 2 times during their long trip
Great guests! thanks guys!
Lee and Tara were absolutely delightful guests. They were appreciative, communicated very well, and left the place spotless. You could not do any better.
Lee and Tara's colorful, creative space match their personalities. It's airy, the neighborhood's fun, and you're always sure to be with interesting people and have good conversations. I've crashed there plenty of times myself!
I've visited Lee and Tara's house many times - it's lovely, and they're very kind and hospitable! They've also lived in New York for a long time and are great resources for information and travel tips - definitely stay with them if you can.
