Kayte and her home were both absolutely wonderful! The room and bathroom were both clean and in great condition -- just as advertised. Katye's house is extremely well-kept and spacious. The house is about a 15 minute drive from downtown and very convenient if you have a car. Kayte was extremely accommodating with her flexible check-in/out times. In addition, she provided suggestions for things to do and places to see and made herself available for anything we might have needed. I would recommend Kayte and her room highly to anyone visiting the Charleston area. We are so happy we found this space and are glad we opted to stay in her room.
Kayte's place was absolutely perfect. Charming, clean, and cozy. Her place felt like home away from home and was centrally located to just about everything you would want to do in Charleston. We would definitely stay here again and hope to be back to the Holy city sooner rather than later.
A definite place to stop. Kayte was wonderful and welcomed us with open arms. Don't be dismayed by the neighborhood. Her place is clean as a pin and very tastefully decorated. The location of the house is perfect for any touring in the charleston area and its surroundings.
Kayte was and excellent host! Excellent communication so we knew exactly what to expect upon arrival. Her dog Bella is the most well behaved k-9 I've ever met!
Beautifully decorated home.
We actually didn't get to meet Kayte... our schedules just didn't match up. But she was very communicative via text and email and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was exactly as described and pictured and the house was very clean and well furnished. The house is in a nice, quiet neighborhood - felt very safe and at home. The neighborhood is near some wonderful beaches and piers and there are nice restaurants and shops very close by. It's easy to get to downtown Charleston from here as well. Nothing is really walkable from here, but it seems very cyclist friendly.
Kayte's home was quiet, quaint, clean and just as beautiful as the pictures portray. Her decor is awesome! Bella was a sweet gem, seriously the most well behaved dog I've ever encountered. Kayte's home is close to everything you'd want in Charleston. Shem creek, Isle of Palms, downtown Charleston, lots of great restaurants and excursions.... It was an awesome, super convenient weekend. We never drove farther than 20 minutes to reach any destination. I would absolutely stay here again & highly recommend for those looking to enjoy themselves in the "low country".
We had a wonderful stay at Kayte's home. This was our second time staying with her, but our first time at her new home. Kayte is a welcoming and kind host. Her home is beautifully decorated and located within an easy driving distance from downtown and the local beaches. We highly recommended her home to anyone looking to stay in the area!
Lovely home. VERY friendly dog - Bella. Kayte is helpful and responsive. Good location. Highly recommended.
Kayte is a very pleasant person, and very well organized. She has a comfortable, well provisioned two bedroom home, in which she takes pride and care, located in a subdivision of similarly designed houses. Her work schedule as a nurse keeps her quite busy, but as a guest you have only to ask for specific advice or info about Mt. Pleasant, where she grew up, or the area generally. Her dog Bella is accepting of guests, and was friendly but obedient. This was our first visit to Charleston; we chose Mt. Pleasant as a stay location, even though it is further from the airport than Charleston proper (and across the impressive Ravenal suspension bridge). For a week's stay, there is no compelling reason to go further for beach access than the fine beaches (only several miles away) at Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms. Lowlands kayaking is available through providers at Shem Creek. Plantation era history/folklore can be sampled at Boone Plantation, along with continuing agricultural use. Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island illustrates coastal defense from the revolutionary war to the 20th c., as well as having been a significant slave trading port. The Old Village area of Mt. Pleasant is charmingly well-preserved. Traffic in downtown Charleston is mostly manageable, but the "hop on-hop off all day" water taxi from Patriot's Point is one welcome option for well-planned days touring the downtown peninsula sites, as are some free trolleys when feet tire. The whole area is a "foodie" pleasure. N.B., there is a $3 express bus to/from the airport from downtown (bus 40 and 41 to Mt. Pleasant available also, but will not easily get you everywhere you want to go). Sweetgrass basket weaving Gullah tradition evident along Rt. 17 toward Georgetown. Next time would spend more time at Ronan Wildlife Area and take the ferry to Bulls Island.
Kayte's house was lovely - beautifully decorated and very clean. The room is nice and bright, and everything you would need is there. We only saw her a few times but she was very gracious and a wonderful host. I definitely recommend her place to anyone looking for a well-kept house in a great location!
I know Kayte well and have spent a good bit of time in her condo. She is super nice, considerate and a great all-around host, and her place would be an excellent option for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Charleston. It is in a great location, and she always keeps it nice and clean. I can also confirm that Bella is an incredibly sweet dog, and by the end of your stay, you'll probably want to take her home with you. If you decide to stay with Kayte, I'm sure you won't regret it!
