This was a great place to stay. It's nice to have a living room to spread out in, the bed is comfy and Maureen is very friendly and welcoming. She struck the exact right balance between chatting and leaving me to my own devices. She was also kind enough to pick me up from the station when I arrived. The house is an easy walk from Stratford past a big shopping centre with a 24 hour Tesco and other useful shops. The only drawback was that the bedroom, bathroom and living room are all very cold. There is a small heater provided but that can only hear one room at a time, and the bathroom was always freezing when getting in or out of the shower.
Sorry to hear you were cold Kate. You should have said as I had no idea. Hopefully the summer will come soon!
Whay a nice stay!!! The room was very clean and the bed really cosy! The bathroom was perfect ! And what about Maureen. .. she's a lovely person ... super kind and very careful to you during the stay!
Very highly recommended ! !!
Maureen was an excellent Host. She was very friendly and welcoming and we felt completely at home. She also very kindly provided breakfast as well as information about Stratford upon Avon.
The rooms were lovely and we had everything we needed. Having the lounge and the terrace ( if it has been sunny) was also really lovely.
Maureen was welcoming and helpful. Responded immediately to a minor problem. The room, although small, was comfortable. Bathroom was nice. Didn't use the sitting room as it was too cold. Although listed as having use of the kitchen we were only allowed to fix breakfast and snacks, not allowed to cook a full meal. Also access to a washer was listed but for a charge of 5
Maureen is a very nice and kind host, the house is spacious, bright and clean, it is located in a quiet area, 5 minutes from Stratford centre.
Maureen's house is in a lovely, quiet part of Stratford on Avon, a short walk from the town centre. The rooms (separate lounge, bathroom and bedroom) are very nicely decorated and modern and light - it was superb to be on the ground floor and not to have to carry bags up stairs. Maureen was friendly and welcoming and I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in Stratford.
Maureen made us feel very welcome and showed us round the accommodation which was clean and comfortable. This was our first experience of airbnb and we would now feel confident to use the service whenever we are looking for somewhere to stay for a few days. The house was a fairly short distance from Stratford-upon-Avon, as described. It's not the most scenic of walks into the city - it's along a main road past a couple of industrial sites, but really straightforward and I would have felt safe if I had needed to walk on my own. (There is a bus service, but there didn't seem to be many buses apart from at peak times)
The reservation was canceled 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Lovely hostess offering a safe, relaxed home, with a location ideal as a base to explore Stratford and it's surrounding area.
I traveled by car but tended to walk (30/40 mins) into town to avoid any parking issues, but for an RSC evening play used multistorey car-park behind tourist info which has a £2 evening charge. Another easy option is the buses from nearby main road.
Also within a mile of Maybird shopping centre, which offers shopping & eating opturtunities.
Maureen was a brilliant host and ensured that I had all of the details/information I needed before arriving. The room/s were immaculate, inviting and just what I was looking forward to. The house is in a lovely quiet area which is a 15 min walk from the Stratford parkway station and 30mins to the centre of town. I would definitely come back and stay here!
