What an awesome stay!
The place is fantastic - a lovely shack in Alice's garden, surrounded by trees. Birds drink at the fountain, squirrels run from tree to tree.. A true haven of peace! The bed was great, we slept with windows open to hear the crickets, but if you close the window it will be very quiet. The small terrace behind the shack is a great place to have a glass of wine and enjoy the quietness of the area.
Alice was such a great host! She made us feel like friends visiting instead of just guests. She was always ready to help if we needed anything, and was happy to provide us tips on where to buy or what to do in the area.
We really had the best week-end ever with Alice in this beautiful location!
Just a little note: Gregoire is Swiss and he calls my cottage a shack, which is really a very small, often primitive shelter. I think this word might not be right. No harm done Gregoire!
We had a great time staying with Alice. She picked us up from the bus and had everything ready when we got to the house. The room is actually a cute little cottage in the garden with a fireplace and its own private outdoor sitting area. Alice was wonderful, giving us tips where to go and helping us on how to get there. The Hamptons are beautiful and September was just the perfect time to go there. We already miss Alice and her amazing garden and hope to come back soon.
It was just my 5th experience with Airbnb but I do not think that there is a better host than Alise. She made me feel like being home right from the beginning. She cared so much about me that she even said the same caring sentences that my mother usually did. She did everything she could that my stay was perfect - and it definitely was.
The studio itself is perfect as well and I really enjoyed the quiet and the idyllic garden. And when being at the main house for the kitchen or the bathroom I enjoyed it a lot talking to her and learning a lot about organic food, biodynamic agriculture and bloodgroups - and so I even accepted not being allowed to put normal milk into my coffee in the morning.
It is the perfect place from which to discover the hamptons - with which I really fell in love with. So after all I could not recommend it more to have a stay at Alise's house and Sag Harbor if you want to experience the hamptons - as long as it is not at the same time when I will be back there.
Alice was the hostess with the mostest. She was very kind and provided us with tons of information, kindness, and amenities during our stay. Her place is incredible, a ten minute walk to the lovely main street, the heart of Sag Harbor. We would love to come back!
I loved every minute of my time in sag harbour in Alise's perfect studio in her idyllic garden. It is peaceful, pretty and so comfortable. Everything about the trip was wonderful and Alise is the perfect host. Kind, caring and incredibly welcoming and so helpful when she sees you need help. It is the perfect place from which to discover the hamptons which is to die for. I know I have a new friend for life and I can't wait to go back.
We fell in love with the little garden house of Alice. It is nicely decorated, clean and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The garden is just as paradise with fresh tomatoes which we could eat right away. Behind the garden house is a wonderful, cute terrace where we had breakfast in the morning. Alice tells you a lot about organic food which is very interesting. She was absolutely awesome, taking care of us the whole stay as we would be friends of her.
She also provided very helpful advice on interesting spots in the area.
We highly recommend this place to everybody who loves to enjoy nature!
Alice was incredibly friendly and welcoming, immediately upon arrival. She made us feel at home in her cozy cottage. She shared some of her home grown tomatoes with us, made a welcome vegetable juice for us, and was a lovely host throughout our stay. She's a warm soul and would be a welcoming host for anyone looking for a relaxed home base in Sag Harbor.
The Little House in the Garden is very cozy and nicely decorated. Perfect place to rest and relax. Alice is happy to help and give suggestions about what to do. The neighbourhood is quite and close to Sag Harbor.
Alise's cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway. She has put an incredible amount of work into her garden and home. We loved picking the fresh cherry tomatoes for our salad. The cottage was cozy and clean.
Alise and her husband are highly personal and helpful. It felt more like staying with friends rather than a rental. She gave us great recommendations regarding restaurants, beaches, and local attractions.
The location from Sag Harbor can't be beat. It's a short walk into town, which is great because the parking situation can be a little chaotic.
We had such a wonderful time! Alice's home is beautiful and very warm. The cottage is very clean and has a wonderful view of the garden. We could not have asked for a better host, the dog Puck is adorable :)
