Marisa was a great host. She was very nice, communicative and really quick to respond any questions we might have had.
The apt location is perfect, the subway station (Bedford Ave, just one stop to Manhattan) is just around the corner and the neighborhood has a very cool and young atmosphere.
I would definitely stay at Marisa's again!
Marisa is a realy nice person. Very helpful, she likes to talk about the city. Very interesting! Perfect location near the subway, many restaurants and bars around. The appartment is charming. I stayed in a sofa bed in the living room.
I stayed at Marisa's place for several weeks which served as a base for me while I looked for work and settled into the New York way of life.
This place is awesome mostly for the sheer convenience of its amazing location. Right in the buzzing hub of Williamsburg, but just off Bedford so as to not get too much of the noise. You have shops and eating a plenty. The Bedford ave subway around the corner, and being on the top floor ( I hope you like stairs) you have views of the Manhattan skyline.
Marisa is about as good as they come as a host. Great sense of humour, very communicative (she was in Chile on holiday during my stay but was always quick to respond to email) and full of info.
If you're looking for hotel style accommodation you wont find it here but you will find a comfortable base to help you explore this great city. Highly recommended. Thanks again Marisa and get well soon Eddie (Marisa's cat)!!
My girlfriend and I had a great time staying in Marisa's place in Williamsburg. It was clean and well-kept, and as described, very close to the center of the action on Bedford. Marisa was very responsive and had two sets of keys so we had no trouble coming and going.
It is the case that there is not a completely separate living space and that guests have to share a bathroom, but as Marisa is a great host, very considerate and fun to talk to, I still recommend her place to anyone looking for an Airbnb spot in the neighborhood. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again in the future!
she is a lovely person , i felt like at home ., the location is perfect .,
i sleep on the sofa becouse i don't like air bed ., i will definitely go back
You couldn’t wish for a better address in NY. The location is perfect and Marisa is a superstar, ready to help in every possible way. Heartily recommended.
Marisas apartment was a great place to stay during our visit in New York. We stayed for almost two weeks. Marisa is a very good and attentive host and she gave us great tips on things to experience in New York. We had many nice conversations with Marisa and felt us part of life in NY while staying at her place. The apartment is centrally located in Williamsburg and easily reached by the subway. The neighborhood is interesting with small nice restaurants in Bedford street. Highly recommended!
Location Location Location. Marisa is a friendly host and her apt. is in one of my favorite neighborhoods.
My stay with Marisa was outstanding. She was a very friendly and helpful host, always generous with information, and consistently very quick to respond the any questions I might have had (be it via e-mail, text, or telephone), and equally so prior to my arrival, during my stay, and after that I had checked out, and that was something that I found very comforting when you are visiting a country for the first time. She made feel right at home in NYC. She is also a person of great intellectual resources, and if you show the least bit of interest you will have the opportunity to learn about life in general and about NYCs in particular. For me personally it has been very valuable to get to know Marisa, not least because of her ability to describe the political, social and historical background of much of what is going on in NYC. The apartment is located in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, one of the hippest neighborhoods in NYC (with lots and lots of culture, music, boutiques, vintage clothing, coffee shops, great little bars, etc. if your into that), and it is literally 2 minutes from the subway. Just hop on the L-train (subway) and you'll be in the heart of Manhattan within just over 5 minutes. The apartment is homy and got a lot of character, but don't expect it to be like a hotel with everything neat in order. But the toilet and bathroom were very clean and nice. You sleep either on an airbed or on the couch. And even if I worried beforehand if I would get any sleep on an airbed I was pleasantly surprised. Marisa was also very generous by providing you the privacy you might want. Moreover, the price is great, I mean really great! You won't find anything in this price range at a great location like in the heart of Williamsburg. So if you want to keep your costs down while in NYC, I can definitely recommend Marisa's place. And if you want to learn about NYC at the same time, It definitely is a great place to stay.
Located in a perfect spot within the nicest area of Brooklyn, we really enjoyed our stay. Moving to Manhattan was easy and Marisa was quick to explain us whether we needed anything. Directions, recommendations or whatever. 100% recommended.
I spent a few nights last summer in Marisa's appartment in Williamsburg : the best place i could wish. Because i didn't want to be just a tourist, because i intended to meet some real people, real characters of New York ... and there's no doubt that Marisa is one of them. How many people really knows NYC ? I mean not only Manhattan, but Brooklyn, Queens. Bielieve me, not so much...
Thanks to Marisa i have a very open vision of NYC. I went to so much interesting places in the three borough thanks to her.. But i won't tell you, you have to meet Marisa '-)
About the appartment : it's a writer's appartment, lots of books... a cosy living room... a "pantagruelic" kitchen (because Marisa knows everything about the next hippest trend thing in cooking).
The location is excellent and Rusty the cat a good fellow...
Marisa is my sister and has been for 46 years. She's been the smartest, most original person I know. She will gladly offer you a million original ideas to enjoy your time in New York, and you will have a much more experience than if you stay with someone else. She knows the city backwards and forwards.
