My Parents loved the House. Thanks so much! They will definitely stay there again next time they are in town visiting us.
We had a fantastic stay at Ruth's place! There were so many thoughtful touches including wine and popcorn on the kitchen table and some extra goodies in the fridge. We stayed with our two year old and Ruth went above and beyond and safety proofed the kitchen. Thanks so much!
Ruth was great! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, few cold beers, and popcorn. Having had a rough drive through thunderstorms and a tornado warning, this felt just great! Even when the power went out on our first night, she answered our questions promptly via text!
The neighborhood was quite beautiful with many good restaurants, bars, and coffee shops within a few minutes from the house. Ruth also left a lot of additional information on how to get around town, including exact change for the bus!
The house was pretty cozy and clean with the exception of the bathroom, which could have used a better scrub. Ruth had everything clearly labeled, which made the check-out pretty straightforward. Overall, a pretty solid place to stay!
I am VERY sorry about the bathrooms. The storm must have blown in dust before the downpour. It is an older house, and windows do leak. I did give it a good clean the day before. But will improve on this.
This home was absolutely lovely and just as nice as it appears in the pictures. It's in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to several cafes and is just a few minutes' drive from downtown. Ruth was very communicative and helpful. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Ruth was a great host! She left detailed notes in case we had any questions and she was even kind enough to leave a bottle of wine and snacks for us. The house was clean and we felt comfortable in the neighborhood. We had a wonderful visit.
If you want to feel like Austin is home then Ruth's house is the perfect place. I felt as though I was part of her family....she even left quarters for the bus! My boyfriend and I stayed during SXSW so it was a nice and quiet getaway. And there were so many great restaurants in walking distance, including Quack's (I will miss all your pastries) and Mother's Cafe. I would definitely stay at Ruth's house again.
Ruth's home was very welcoming and very clean! It was in a perfect location with a great restaurant down the street, a small organic grocery and a great coffee spot. Her home was comfortable and relaxing. I was in Austin on business and it was great to come home after a busy day and relax on the front porch sipping a glass of wine that Ruth was so thoughtful to provide. I would highly recommend Ruth's house for anyone visiting Austin - you will not find a better place!!!
Ruth's home was very cheerful and welcoming. She accommodated out needs for check in and check in out, and left us a bottle of wine, toiletries, and other sundries upon arrival. The neighborhood was very nice. Within walking distance there were restaurants, a coffee shop, and an eccentric convenience store with an excellent selection of craft beer and wine. We enjoyed staying a bit removed from the action of downtown, and cheap and easy bus travel made getting into the thick of things easy.
Ruth's house is cute, neat, and in a fun neighborhood. I walked to the Flight Path Cafe for espresso in the morning. I walked to Fresh Plus for groceries in the afternoon. I did some baking while I was there. The kitchen had the things I'd forgotten - measuring spoons, measuring cups, and vanilla.
Access was easy: the owner gave us a code to open the doors.
I loved staying here. I'd certainly rent this place again.
Ruth was not present when we arrived but she made us feel very welcome with a bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers. Her house is just as it appears - very cute and just what we needed for a couple of nights. The neighborhood is in a very convenient location and only about a 15 minute drive to downtown Austin.
