This place has potential ....
Clean and comfortable
The space is comfortable and we had towels...
We were encouraged to use the "Soft Soap" for the shower.
The rooftop space is nice - day or nite. Lots of interesting characters in the building
A bit off the beaten path.. okay its deserted at night
Yes there is a church and the bells tolls far more than 100 times, I stopped at 150!
Call about what is available, like SOAP, cooking utensils - Off Street Parking.
There is NO Delivery nearby.
With all our "dining out" we had some trash but no idea where to find the trash chute as it wasn't labeled in the hallway.
To return again, I would like to have some cooking utensils, not a lot - maybe a skillet, spatula and a baking dish
Tyler was quite helpful.
Nice place in a nice location.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Parking across the street was fairly easy, and the room and rooftop had a nice view. I'd say the place was a good value in comparison to a hotel.
I went with my cousin to KC for a Music Festival, and stayed Friday evening through Sunday. We chose Tyler's place because we wanted a hotel alternative, yet maintain a classy stay and have our own space.
General stay was great! Initial glance of the property via photos felt almost misleading until we realized photos of the building were mixed in with the unit itself. Communication was solid, however because of the nature of my business I should have clarified a few things ahead of time, such as the secure parking. The pool is awesome (you should check to see if it's reserved if you plan on using it) and it's view is incredibly awesome at night! His neighbors (and anyone we ran into, incl building staff) were super friendly and social! Building decor is classy, lots of amenities you'd find in a nicer hotel but not near as crowded or actually feeling like your in a hotel. Parking, by the way, we had to park on the street at night due to the remote being unavailable, but we didn't have any issues finding a close spot. The Building itself was quiet, not a lot going on.
The place was small, clean, and restful for the limited time we were actually there... served us well! The table/chairs were nice to have for planning out the weekend, etc... there were two small trash cans, so if you plan on cooking (very nice oven, stove and microwave) you might bring a larger trash bag. The counter top seems to want to hold stains, so put a paper towel down or something if you have an item that might leave a mark. The decor is very bland, with the exception of the mentioned painting (which was pretty incredible). Closet was handy but very tiny... and did have some available hangers.
WORDS OF WARNING... there is a church across the street in view of the window that chimes over 100 times loudly for each service, incl Saturday (1x) and Sunday mornings (3x)... Towels, flatware, cups etc were actually provided (even though Tyler didn't know there were any), which was one less stress to deal with! Water was EXTREMELY HOT... make sure you test the water before you get in (however the shower itself was amazing). I would initiate contact beforehand via email or telephone to clarify what you may (or may not) need to bring to make your stay great...
Tyler is an excellent host. Incredibly responsive and quick to answer questions or any concerns. Highly recommend.
Very nice can clean, just like the pictures show. Bring an eye mask for sleeping, the morning sun is awful and not curtains. Jacuzzi was broken while I was there, but pool was nice to have. I would probably stay here again.
The condo was beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy our quick stay in Kansas City! We would definitely stay here again if we are in town. It was close to a lot of blues an jazz bars and great restaurants.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Tyler’s place for a weekend so we could see a show at the Sprint Center. This was our first time using AirBNB. We arrived promptly at noon on Saturday but the guests who stayed the evening before us had yet to check out. I immediately got in touch with Tyler who was aware of this and on his way to the condo to talk with them and ensure that the condo was promptly cleaned. To compensate for the inconvenience, Tyler kindly allowed us to utilize his secured parking spot for the weekend. This turned out to be extremely beneficial as we witnessed an individual breaking into cars in the parking lot late Saturday evening and had to call the police. Overall, the neighborhood was not one in which we’d choose to stay again.
The condo itself was very interesting but there were a few things that would have made our stay much more comfortable. There are no blinds or drapes of any kind on the windows which certainly meant early mornings. The condo (email hidden) unit and once we figured out how to work it, it was quite hot in the condo and it never cooled down. Blinds or drapes would have definitely helped to keep the heat out and made the condo more comfortable. We both did agree that the bed was extremely comfortable but we did not sleep well due to the heat and the light. These were things that I’ve always taken for granted about staying in a hotel.
We also experienced trouble with the internet. Tyler was extremely helpful in resolving this and did bring us an alternative method for accessing the internet. The condo did not have cable, which wasn’t a big deal, but we had erroneously assumed there would be some type of bunny-ears that would allow us access to local channels. The TV does have access to Netflix but that only works if the internet is working.
We had looked forward to hanging out in the pool area one evening but when we went up there, we were told that it had been reserved and we were unable to use either the pool or the hot tub. This had been a major reason we had chosen this facility and we were quite disappointed that it was unavailable.
After we arrived home, I received a text message from Tyler advising me that a bottle of wine was missing and that he would invoice me. We found this odd as we had taken our beverages with us and hadn’t drunk or taken any wine from Tyler’s home. I explained to Tyler that this was a mistake and he did eventually respond that it must have been a housekeeping error and have been taken by the couple who stayed before us. I’m certainly not used to being accused of stealing and this definitely left a sour-taste in our mouths about the whole weekend.
Beautiful one bedroom condo in Kansas City. Perfect getaway with an amazing view. Pool and hot tub not far from the elevator and has the most pristine view in all of downtown KS city. Would stay again when in Kansas!
Awesome guy, super-reliable. In addition to being a friend, he's done some work for me in the past and I can always count on him. I would rent to him or from him without a moment's hesitation.
