Pasquale's appartment is actually in a very convenient location. 5 minutes walking to Trastevere ( what a fantastic place! please dont miss the night scene in Trastevere ) 9 minites walking from the Colosseo, Foro Romano etc. We did everything walking. Even Vaticano. How fantastic Rome is for walking... Thats what Rome is all about... walking... getting lost in its fantastic multifaceted urban scenario... And Pasquale's flat is the perfect base for that, since its quite central to all the must see places in the city. Plus: The appartment is in a fantastic XVI century building right on one of the entrances of the jewish gueto, a very unique atmosphere indeed.
Pasquale has been very quick in responding us (we booked with only some 18 hours in advance and when we arrived the flat was perfectly clean and fit ) and very friendly and easygoing as well as Giuseppe, Pasquale's assistant, who met us for the check in, gave us all the tips about the area, etc.
Very pleasant experience indeed. I hope to come back as soon as possible to Rome and will definately stay again at Pasquale's place.
I came to Rome with two friends for a few days while we traveled through Italy. We did not actually meet Pasquale, but interacted with his coworker Joseph. We did however email back and forth with Pasquale before our arrival, and he was very helpful, informative, and pleasant. Unfortunately, neither Pasquale or Joseph gave us helpful directions to reach the apartment, resulting in us wandering around the area for about an hour with all of our luggage. Joseph was upset that we were late, which was beyond our control, though the woman was still cleaning the apartment. We arrived to the apartment, which is nice with a GREAT location. It is a little cramped for three people but we made it work. He was nice to help us carry one of our suitcases up the three flights of stairs. Joseph does not speak very good English, but we were also able to make that work. Almost instantly we noticed that the wifi did not work though it was advertised as working wifi. The next day, we emailed Pasquale from a restaurant about the wifi issue. He responded quickly and sent someone out within a day to fix the issue, which was not sufficient as it did not result in working wifi for the remainder of our stay. One of the appeals of this apartment was the washing machine, so we planned to do laundry during our stay - bad idea. The washing machine is located in the shower, and after about an hour we realized that it was not washing our clothes, but was broken with our clothes locked inside. Trying to get our clothes out we shorted the electricity to the apartment. Joseph was unable to help us so we were left wandering the building to find the other circuit breaker. After, Joseph responded to state that we should not use the washer because it is broken, thanks for the heads up! So we were left washing clothes in the sink and hanging them around the already cramped apartment. Also, since the apartment does not have working heat, it took days for the clothes to dry. The apartment does not have heat, which was a problem for us, as we visited in the winter months. The issue with the washer made us reluctant to use the microwave, so we were left without another amenity. The TV works but is incredibly small. The beds are not very comfortable, but clean. The only good thing about this apartment was the location.
LOCAZIONE ECCEZIONALE, il resto proprio no.
A refurbished studio in a dilapidated palace, in the jewish ghetto.
Good: clean place, excellent location, friendly and efficient welcome.
Not so good: erratic wifi, useless kitchen.
Overall, if you add up the AirBnB fee and the city tax, this comes a little too expensive compared to a hotel. This is worth 80 €/night, at most.
I had the pleasure of staying in Pasquale's apt located in the center of Rome. We didn't actually deal with Pasquale directly but instead dealt with Giuseppe. The place was a bit small but we didn't care since we were out exploring most of the time. Giuseppe recommended a great place to eat and answered all of our questions. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great centrally located apt in Rome.
Tutto perfetto direi.. Torneremo presto!!!
