Martin James was a great host. Pulled our reservation right up and got us setup in no time.
The hotel was quaint; had a very "local" feel. It was a great place to stay on our scotch tour.
Had a very comfortable bed, breakfast was tasty and a very friendly welcome. A lot to see and do in the area around Tomintoul, and it is a very beautiful area.
The listing was accurate
It was a really nice and delicious (great Whisky selection in the bar) stay in this B&B/Hotel. We enjoyed staying there very much with the feeling of having a really nice and authentic Tomintoul-experience and very nice conversations in the evening. Will definitely come back.
Highly recommend a stay with Martin at the Richmond Arms, Tomintoul, place has real character with friendly and helpful staff.
Very friendly. Very good whiskies with experts to advice. Fireplace in the bar. A great whisky shop at 50 m. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR PRICE.
I spent one night in Tomintoul and the room was very quiet. The owner is very welcoming. Tomintoul is a village to visit if you have got a car.
I do not recommand it if you are a backpacker because it is a bit far away from the first public transport.
My stay at the Richmond Arms was absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious, the room and accommodations were quite nice, and the company was the best part. As a single traveler, I was very grateful for the hospitality and delightful conversation with both Martin and Chloe. I certainly plan to stay here again next time I'm in Scotland, and hopefully for more than one evening!
Thanks, Martin and Chloe!
A great time in Richmond Arms Hotel ! Martin, his daughter and all the staff were so nice with us !
Highly recommanded by me and the 8 other fellow who were with me during this stop to Tomintoul.
You can't be disappointed !
Tomintoul was more than I imagined it would be. Our party of six received an exceptional level of service by the staff at the RIchmond Arms. We actually arrived without a car and had a wonderful experience by the town of Tomintoul. Hiking, The Glenlivet tour, and dinner and drinks. Tomintoul may be off the beaten path but it is any amazing town with a super friendly atmosphere. Love it and I would love to visit again.
A big thanks to Martin (Richmond Arms), Patrick (Gordon's public house) and Mike (Whiskey Castle).
