Irish guy living in London. Frequent traveller. Decent sort.
Spacious, full of day light, fantastic fireplace, 20 minutes from center, very nice neighborhood, very responsive host. Great stay, 100% recommend
Although I never met John, I really enjoyed staying at his flat. It felt like home, even with the little quirks of a real home. Everything was as described, the location is excellent, with excellent transportation by tube, bus and overground. You can even walk to Portobello Rd and Notting Hill (about 1/2 houir). The place was comfy and clean, with everything needed for a comfortable long stay. We stayed 3 weeks, and even got to know the local merchants!
We kept in contact with John via email, got fast replies with clear answers to our first day(s) queries, and a friend of his was available for help in case of need, which provided peace of mind even if we never needed to call on him
Thanks for letting us into your place, John. Hope your place is available next time I go to London. I will certainly stay there again.
Loved it. The flat is nicer in person and more spacious than the pictures show. About a 5 min walk from either of the 2 Tube stations nearby, the neighborhood boasts a few coffee shops, a couple of butchers, green grocers, bakeries and a pub. Restaurants are plentiful for either take away or eating in. About a 20 min ride to the centre of town (depending). Clean for a bachelor's standard, but not for a clean freak. The important things were fine, bedding, towels, bathroom, kitchen and floors. Quiet and convenient, I would recommend John's flat as I enjoyed its use.
Profile the perfect guest and you'll see John Butler's cherubic mugshot. He was absolute ideal bungalow-mate: ridiculously responsible and easy to get along with paired with a wondrous sense of humour. We tried to 'guest-nap' him to stay longer....sigh....
