Response from Aaron:
Jean-Daniel, such personal attacks about me and my friend are unkind and unwarranted--and untrue. My original review of your flat had nothing to do with you. I was only reviewing the space itself.
And the flat was filthy from the moment we moved in. It did *not* resemble the photos posted on Airbnb. The dirty linens from the previous guests had not been cleaned and returned when I arrived. The belongings of the previous guests--shoes, clothing, toiletries--had not been removed, and never were. And as I mentioned in my original review of your flat, it was *precisely* the kitchen and the bathroom that were especially dirty. The sink did not drain; the bathtub did not drain. There was grime in every corner of the kitchen and the bathroom. Nor did we leave linens scattered over the apartment. They were left in the bedroom hamper and in the bathroom. (Nor was there any request posted or made that we should wash all of our linens after our stay, and indeed, that has never been requested at any Airbnb apartment I've rented.) The uncleanliness of your apartment had *nothing* to do with me and my friend.
And despite your characterizations of Wedding, there is, in fact, very little to do in the neighborhood. (As many, many young Berliners told us repeatedly during our stay.) Regarding the heat, we were staying at your flat in the middle of a very hot summer, in June and July: Obviously, the heat *never* came on. And lastly, we did not stay at your place for free. The last two nights were paid for in full.
As for what I expected from my journey, I expected a flat that matched the photos and the description given by the host and the reviews given by previous guests. The comments I left regarding my stay at your flat were truthful observations that neither you nor other guests had mentioned. They were things I wish I had known before I paid you an enormous amount of rent for a month's stay.
