This flat was perfect for us -inspiring artistic setting. We really appreciated all the welcome tips on things to do and restaurants etc. We tried out the farmers market, where we found great coffee and bread and fruit and Souley Vegan which were both great. The mattress was very comfy. Easy to get keys etc and brad gave us suggestions for parking. Would recommend 9th / Franklyn paid parking bay which is around the corner.
A few people warned us off Oakland. We really can't understand why. Great place for artists to hang out and watch life go by. Great cafes too.
Our host had great taste in books, brews and art.
The apartment was lovely, and absolutely central. We walked to dinner in Chinatown, drinks in Uptown, and BART for meetings in SF. Also don't miss out on some egg custards or almond cookies from the bakery downstairs.
Our friends who live in town swung by after dinner for a brief visit and everyone agreed the decor and "vibe" were great as well.
My only complaint (which is in no way the host's fault, just a feature of the neighborhood): parking was difficult to find for a multi-day visit. We ended up having to move our car four times in 48 hours and still ended up with a ticket at 8:07 a.m. (just after the meters started running again) on our second morning.
So: leave the car at home if you can.
Brad was a perfect host. His loft was adorable and so close to all the cool things to do in Oakland. It was also super fast and easy to go into SF from his place.
We planned our trip last minute, but Brad was great about getting back to us right away and making it work for us. The apartment was amazing. If you want to be surrounded by creativity (and a stone's throw away from the art, culture, food, and energy of Oakland), this is the perfect place to stay. We were only in town for the one day, but I would stay again in a heartbeat.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
All 3 of us enjoyed staying at Brad's place for girls' weekend out in the big city! His place is very comfortable and centrally located. Brad thoughtfully left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift and set up an air mattress for us. He also provided us information on places to eat, go dancing, etc. in the area. Brad was accessible via phone and quick to reply to any questions we had. I booked Brad's place 2 days before arriving and we appreciated Brad accommodated us with the last minute rental. The only minor negative were that the key to the outside front door was very difficult to use and a couple of times we got locked out of the building. But we would definitely stay there again. Thanks, Brad. You made our first experience with Airbnb very pleasant.
Brads apartment is such a pleasure to stay in, warm, beautiful and full of light. We loved our stay here and brad even left us a bottle of red and a helpful list of local recommendations. We will definitely return the next time we are in the region and can't rave about brad and his home enough!
Thanks Brad! Place was super sweet and he even let us try two of his home-brews which were amazing! He recommended a great place for us to have dinner. . . We were able to walk to the Jack London Farmer's market on Sunday. Wish we had a little more time and would definitely stay again!
Everything with Brad's stay was 100%. Great guest!
Brad was a very easy, friendly guest. I would highly recommend him.
