I am from the Maldives and am here mainly as a guest. I came across Airbnb when I was seeking economy accomodation for stay in Washington DC. Airbnb is so great and such a great idea, that we also have listed my husbands home in Thulhaadhoo island.
We hardly get to use the place as commuting is not the easiest thing to do here. So except for our annual short visit at the end of the year, the place is rented throughout the year to locals - friends and relatives. It would be a pleasure to offer the place for international guests who happens to be visiting Thulhaadhoo island. (I say "happens" because transport from island to island is not easy).
I have had the good fortune to travel to Australia, USA, Singapore, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Bhutan and am constantly on the lookout for more adventure, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. And through this experience, I understand that a house-stay is more convenient for some people and some people like to blend in with the community. Our home is listed as a contribution for similar people.
I am fluent in English and Dhivehi. I can converse in Urdu & Hindi, and am currently learning French.
je aime voyager!!!
