I have wanted to set up a vacation rental for a long time, and we finally bought the right house to do it in the summer of 2009. We have really enjoyed welcoming guests to the best block in West Philly.

The Pink House was perfect. Very cute, lots of great books and art, clean and comfortable. There was fresh organic coffee, chocolates, and the owners laid out a binder with info about the two of them and the history of the house. A lot of time and love went into creating this space. Great spot!
Amazing place! We loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Philadelphia. Very hospitable!
We had a wonderful experience. Everything was very clean and the place was close to university of Pennsylvania. Michael checked on us several times to make sure that everything was okay.unfortunately, the heat was not working that day but space heaters were plenty good enough. Also there's plenty of hot water and the chocolates were a nice touch. Thank you so much.
This was a comfortable place to stay, a good value, and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Childrens books and toys, shampoos, tea, and chocolates were also nice touches.
Caveat: people who are sensitive to noise or who have small children who sleep early may not be as pleased. You can easily hear people moving through the house, playing piano (they played well, we liked this, but others might not), etc. It would not be a comfortable place for someone sensitive to noise.
The accommodation was absolutely perfect! We loved the 2 separate sleeping areas and the house was very quiet. Our toddler son enjoyed the toys in the living room. A great neighborhood with beautiful houses, and just a short walk to the trolley to get to central Philly in just a few minutes. We'll be back!
Everything about our stay at The Pink House was seamless. Alexa sent over a document outlining everything from her policies, to how to use the trolley system (which was awesome and very convenient) and everything in between.
Upon our arrival, the code for entry was set up, and everything was clean and ready for us, including towels in every room.
Having the house manager on site was also helpful for any questions that I had or any issues (though there were none).
We'd certainly rent again! It's an ideal location for downtown and University City, with it being just a few steps to the trolley.
Lovely neighborhood. This was my second stay and just as I expected.
Wonderful guest suite. Both beds were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, snacks, oatmeal, spices, oil, pots and pans, etc. Conveniently located near public transit and an easy ride to the city. Tasty restaurants nearby. Easy and flexible check in and out. Overall great experience!
Gaston and Alexa's place is a lovely, separate space which is perfect for a couple visiting Philly. We appreciated little details like tea, coffee and a kettle for morning drinks. The house is a short walk to the trolley along Baltimore ave or an easy walk into University City. Alexa was super generous and actually did our washing for us for free, as well as allowing us a late check-out. We loved our stay and would definitely rent again.
My parents stayed at Gaston and Alexa's guest suite for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The suite is super cozy and clean and has everything you may need. Gaston and Alexa were easy to communicate with and we didn't encounter any problem whatsoever. The neighborhood's awesome with lots of restaurants/cafés and cute houses. It is easy to park on the street (2 hr-limit) or a couple of blocks further down (no time limit).
I definitely recommend staying at the Pink House!
Thanks for keeping the house perfect and enjoin the night here in DC.
Gaston was an excellent guest. I would let Gaston stay at our condo anytime. The condo was left neat and easy to prepare for our next guest. Gaston was easy to communicate with as well.
Very nice family!
I met Gaston and Alexa last year while researching Philadelphia accommodations within close proximity to my son’s West Philly apartment (he’s a neighbor, residing just a few blocks away from the Pink House). Gaston and Alexa are warm and friendly…genuinely nice people who are part of what makes the Spruce Hill neighborhood such a wonderful place to live and to visit. As hosts, they’re available without being intrusive.
My daughter and I personally stayed in the Guest Suite over MLK weekend while touring colleges and visiting with my son. As a real estate professional, I sometimes find that photos can stretch the reality of a situation. Not in this case--the Guest Suite is as nice in person as it is in the photographs. There are thoughtful touches throughout: a welcoming bowl of fruit and fresh muffins, Alexa’s artwork, tea, coffee, and oatmeal in the kitchen; shampoo, makeup remover and even earplugs in the bathroom.
While I haven’t stayed in the ground-floor studio apartment, Alexa gave me the tour. It’s a nicely renovated compact space suitable for a single or a couple. If the Guest Suite wasn’t available, my daughter and I would’ve been comfortable staying in the studio.
I think anyone would be pleased with the hosts, the location, and the accommodations!
