Charming little flat, great location, and Constance was very helpful and responsive in every way.
We spent a fabulous 2 weeks here in August. This is the best location if you want to be in the Marais area of Paris.(quiet and convenient). The apartment is very spacious for Paris, a very well designed loft with good light and ventilation. Our host was most helpful and obliging and a very charming person to share a glass of wine with !
The only slight negative is the size of the bed which had to be shared in a heatwave for three days. If you are a small couple its OK!!
Would love to come back to this apartment and meet up with our host again.
This is a beautiful apartment, spacious by European standards. Constance worked very hard to orient us to her place, which is meticulously kept, with interesting antique furniture. The bed is small for 2 people, not the most comfortable, but I thought quite tolerable if you are cuddly types. It's in a really beautiful neighbourhood, across from the Jewish Museum (so the street is very quiet), and just up the street from the Pompidou Centre. Walking distance to most all of the sites - we only used the metro for the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur. There is a small, but efficient, elevator that takes you half way up, so although it's on the 4th floor, you only have to walk up 2 flights.
Constance speaks several languages - her English, French and Italian are excellent. I was a bit worried about the house rules at first. There was no need, as Constance is pretty reasonable. However, you should have a look at them. She wants the place vacuumed before you leave and the sheets folded (takes just a few minutes). If you're not inclined to be a clean, careful guest, it may not work out as well for you.
For us, it was a lovely stay in a lovely place. Beware of the bakeries nearby. Their chocolate cylindrical shaped bread, baguettes, and almond/raspberry croissants are to die for.
Constance is a charming person and a very welcoming and considerate host. The apartment is even lovelier than in the photos. The location is terrific, too, right downtown, but on a quiet and peaceful street with some great restaurants and a delicious bakery nearby, and walking distance to many well known sights. We just didn't want to leave and hope to have the chance to stay there next time we are in Paris.
